Things I learned this week as a result of Hurricane Sandy coverage:

1. Hoboken is below sea level

2. A lot of people live on the Jersey shore, enough to warrant an entire Congressional district!

3. Virginia beach Virginia is a major city.

It's a fineable offense, if I recall correctly, up to $50. At one point they were also trying to pass a "butt crack law." Meaning, you can't wear pants/skirts that show your underwear. Don't know how this works exactly at the BEACH, but... no you've learned 2 more things about VA Beach, VA.

I moved to VB in 1997 or 1988, and I think that incident happened shortly after. I always wondered if they would have made such a stink about it if the college students had been white . . . probably not. I'm sure it would have been painted as 'kids just being kids'!
