Unless we can time travel back to 2016 we are screwed.
That election changed everything. Now we're stuck with a right wing extremist Supreme Court for decades.
I don't think all the people bashing Biden and the Democrats for not doing anything right now understand just how powerful this 6-3 conservative court is.
Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito are in their 70's. But we know how long evil white men driven by hate (McConnell, Murdoch) can live.
Every idea I've heard from the Biden bashers would just be quickly reversed or overturned by a Republican congress or this Supreme Court.
Sadly I think a lot of anti-Hillary Americans who voted for Jill Stein, Trump or stayed home in 2016 are suddenly realizing just how important control of the federal courts is. And they're taking out their anger on the Democratic Party which Republicans poised to take back Congress are thrilled by.
2016 was the most important election of our lifetime. People pissed about Roe being overturned may or may not understand that.
However for us Democrats who have turned out and voted every November for decades being blamed for not preventing this Christofascist takeover is frankly insulting.
Democrats and progressives paying attention since birtherism knew all too well.. We're not perfect but they're nuts.

(45,094 posts)You think The Republicans would have worked with her? Pardon me... You might want to remember that enough of those people you like to trash voted for her to win the popular vote by close to 3 million votes. Put the blame where it belongs.

(7,867 posts)How many conservative Justices were appointed to the Supreme Court under Obama's watch? Yeah, that's what I thought.
And I do put the blame where it belongs: on idiots that STILL THINK, to this day, that Hillary in office wouldn't have prevented this disaster and are still laying out the same pathetic ass excuses they used to try and absolve themselves of their direct responsibility for this back in 2016.

(45,094 posts)the nose. Trump couldn't manipulate his way out of a wet paper bag.
What part of Hillary being president = Trump not president do you not understand?
If Hillary were in office, the three assholes that Trump nominated would not be on the Court -- PERIOD.
So, yes, AS I RIGHTFULLY SAID, Hillary in power would have prevented this.

(68,578 posts)The Supreme Court is now a rogue court. In my lifetime, I fully expect a president or a Senate majority leader...to tell those Supreme Court traitors...Make me...when the issue some completely unconstitutional ridiculous ruling. They have no standing armies...what can they do? All they ever had was credibility and now they don't have that.

(29,250 posts)We are the party of right but our leadership may have lacked the foresight and stomach to be as aggressive as the times are now showing was necessary to protect democracy. Then and in the intervening years as the rule twisting has gotten more blatant.

(53,032 posts)Who not only wasn't regretful for not voting for Hillary, she repeated the same Russian lies from 2016. Then she blamed Democrats for not codifying Roe. Democrats--the very party she refuses to vote for because it's not pure enough for her. People like that are evil.
