SARAJEVO, Bosnia-Herzegovina (AP) — The leader of Bosnia's Serbs said Sunday he hoped former U.S. President Donald Trump would return to power and that the Serbs would “wait for appropriate global circumstances” to reach for their goal of seceding from Bosnia, which he called an “unsustainable state.”

1. WTF? Didn't enough people die in the war during the 1990s? I read that well over 100,000

people died before the US brokered the peace deal that finally ended the conflict.

2. Scary shit...but the Balkan situation has never really been resolved...

Once again, ethinc differences that go back centuries but are only somewhat tempered for the time being.

Serbia came back into existence in the early 1900's and were, like many newly created ethno-centric states, expansionary and aggressive. After WWI, they were buried in the Yugo-slav frankenstein state.

In the 1990's Serbia emerged again, and like before there are significant Serbian minorities in neighboring states they would love to absorb going forward. That all calmed down a bit, but it is still there, bubbling under the surface.
