The Roux Comes First
(1,299 posts)Bob Z at his early best. I love it. Never got to see much of this material in performance - it's like reliving my youth in color.

2) He's 81 years old, and apparently has performed the exact same concert for this entire tour.
3) Plus, for some reason the position of the band on stage started 1/2 way from the the front of the stage and then went to the back, the stage lighting was low, and after each song was essentially turned off.
4) He played piano the entire concert (except for several harmonica solos), which means he was only visible above the bottom of his shoulders, excluding that portion which was hidden by the two microphones extending therefrom.
5) Every 3rd or 4th song, he would travel to the 1/2 front of the state to wild applause and say 'thank you'
6) He did none of the songs from the 60's-70's, all were from his latest albums.
So yeah, I'm glad I went, but was somewhat disappointed as well.
