3. Mitch doesn't regret anything

His strategy is always to push as far as he can. He doesn't let up. And he doesn't worry about consequences. For people like Mitch, consequences are minor inconveniences that will pass with time.

Frankly, I wish we had a leader as determined as Mitch.

He knows at the very least they respect power as much as he does.
He also knows that it energizes people when they win - even if its in the long run against their interests.

Any "problems" are just minor changes in direction to adjust, but with momentum to keep hammering away.

12. Sometimes we focus too much on the small losses

And not enough on the overall big picture.

For instance the gun debate over the last 30 years has cost us more votes than any other position/issue. We should have triangulated the gun debate. It's a worse issue for democrats than the war on drugs has been for Republicans.

I realize with recent (in the last 30 years) mass shootings this seems tone deaf. But had we not let guns be a wedge issue for all of these years we would have put ourselves in a better position to address the problem today. We would have a different SC and we might control more state legislatures.

I think with Roe being reversed we really need to refocus our efforts on equality. Not just racial, reproductive and sexual orientation but also economic. Urban and rural.

We can't undo the past but we can influence the future.

15. Oh so disagree that Roe and the new gun law are small deals.

These re huge and many Americans will die because of that and our crime will skyrocket and overall economic health die but the rich will make out like bandits and that is exactly the point of all their decisions - Christofascists that the 6 are.

17. I'm talking in general. Roe is very big. Bigger than guns for sure.

Roe is a huge loss. My point is did we ultimately lose Roe because of guns. Would we have been better off not spending that energy and political capital?

Mitch will still be Minority Leader with a chance to be Majority Leader in 2024 when a lot of Democratic seats are up.

Mitch is a mini Trump, he only cares about himself.
