strategic ability in the Black Sea as well as stopping many of the missile attacks. Control and do much damage to the ships and submarines as well as destroy as many mines along the coast of Ukraine will free up the shipping of much needed gain and other food supplies to the world.

Taking Snake Island would given Ukraine more control and reach into the Black Sea, but probably not enough to open Odessa to commercial traffic.

However, forcing Russia to continually expend scarce resources in resupply has potential long term advantages. If Ukraine can break through and sever the Crimea land bridge, Russia will be forced to use those same types of ships and materials to resupply the cutoff forces. Depleting them now via Snake Island, reduces their capabilities for that scenario later.
