the Feds have their ways...think about the witnesses that have already 'fessed up to receiving calls, texts, and emails from Eastman...

So depending on how he has it set up it may be in the cloud still. If you erase an item from iCloud Apple completely erases all backups of that file 30 days later.
So if he didnt delete it greater than 30 days or did not use messages it could be there (or could be in email, chat apps etc).
