I imagine most places will be out of network.
So time off from work, travel expenses unless you work for one of those companies that will help, and maybe a giant medical bill.
Recipe for disaster.

Different circumstances. Hence my answer - maybe.

(7,290 posts)Im a man, so obviously abortion doesnt apply to me personally, but my insurance covers healthcare worldwide.
But as a federal employee, it doesnt cover abortion at all, except for life of the mother (possibly rape and incest as well, not sure).

(3,697 posts)30 or 60 miles to obtain medical care not available closer to home. The distance may differ from plan to plan but the provision is usually included in commercial and large Employer plans that are mostly self-insured. These plans treat abortions just like any other medical surgical procedure. Companies are pointing out this coverage specifically for abortions because most people don't know that coverage is already in place for related travel expenses. I like that companies spoke up as it reiterates their support for their women Employees and dependents having access to abortions.
