Tuesday was not a good day for the Giuliani family as former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was repeatedly implicated in Donald Trump's attempted coup in a Jan. 6 hearing as his son, Andrew Giuliani, lost the GOP nomination for governor of New York.

While I get it, that Andrew G. was cruising on his father's name and resume, I don't get how republican voters took him seriously.
He has no experience in government. Not mayor. Not even councilman.
He had the media portray him as "an aide to President Trump". Aide? Like Ivanka? Not even. He was a "sports liaison" to the WH.

And that made him qualified?
While he came in a distant second in the primary yesterday, voters still chose him over Rob Astorino, executive for Westchester County. I don't get it.

(31,035 posts)He was an obnoxious kid and Rudy refused to discipline him even though Rudy had run on a zero tolerance policy. He was standing next to his father mocking the speech the whole time. I remember it very well. Cracked me up

(31,035 posts)Giuliani was recruited to Duke by former golf coach Rod Myers, although Myers died shortly after and a new coach was appointed.[15] In February 2008, while Giuliani was a junior, he was cut from the team for breaches of discipline, which he said were minor or fabricated infractions: gunning the engine of his car as he left a parking lot, breaking a club, and throwing an apple at a teammate.[16][17][15][18][19]
In July 2008, Giuliani sued the university, alleging that his golf coach "manufactured accusations against him to justify kicking him off the team to whittle the squad." He further claimed that the university, by way of the late Rod Myers, had verbally promised him a spot on the Blue Devils and life-time access to Duke golf facilities.[20][21] The lawsuit was dismissed in 2010.[3][22]

I think Zeldin secured only 44% of the vote. He's an election obfuscationist, so he can eat sand.
Guiliani got over 20% of the Republican primary vote, which is way too much for what an idiot he is. The other two guys got less.
