The Special Committee have Bobby Engel's testimony about what took place in The Beast on J6.

Politico June 8, 2022

As then-President Donald Trump left a rally with his supporters on Jan. 6, 2021, he appears to have held out hope until the last minute — even as chaos unfolded — that he’d be able to join them at the Capitol.

Trump even raised the prospect privately with the head of his Secret Service detail at the time, Robert Engel, according to a person familiar with the agent’s congressional testimony. Engel rode with Trump in the presidential armored car called “The Beast” back to the White House after the Ellipse rally that preceded that day’s violent riot.

Engel told Jan. 6 select committee investigators that the two men discussed Trump’s desire to go to the Capitol and took different views on the topic. Engel noted that they went back to the White House instead of heading to Capitol Hill.
The contents of Engel’s testimony have not been previously reported. Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi declined to comment.

The testimony shows just how much Trump wanted to be at the Capitol with his backers as Congress voted to certify his Electoral College loss to Joe Biden. And he expressed his desire to join the protesters even as violence was unfolding.

The one the president is traveling in is 'The Beast'. As far as I am concerned ... any vehicle Trump travelled in was 'The Beast', Caddy or SUV, or golf cart.

I noticed Bobby Engel, who was the head of Mr. Trump's security detail, sitting in a chair, just looking somewhat discombobulated and a little lost.

I looked at Tony and he had said, did you f'ing hear what happened in the beast? I said, no, Tony, I — I just got back. What happened? Tony proceeded to tell me that when the president got in the beast, he was under the impression from Mr. Meadows that the off the record movement to the Capitol was still possible and likely to happen, but that Bobby had more information.

1. Cassidy Hutchinson is lying; or
2. Tony Ornato didn't know Trump was traveling in the SUV; or
3. WH staff may refer to the SUV as the beast when president is traveling in it.

Reuters:
Fact check: Any plane carrying the U.S. president is called ‘Air Force One’

Social media users have been sharing posts which assert that President Biden did not fly on Air Force One, as a plane he flew on looks different to the plane used by President Trump when he left the White House. Some users suggest this is evidence that Biden is not a legitimate president. This claim is false: although Biden is using a smaller Air Force plane, the term “Air Force One” refers to any U.S. Air Force aircraft used by the president. Trump and Obama both used this smaller plane on several occasions while president.

snip/

The two planes are different. But the White House website explains that, although today it is “standard practice” to use the term “Air Force One” to refer to one of two Boeing 747-200B series aircraft with the Air Force designation VC-25 that are customized to transport the President, “technically,” the term “’Air Force One’ is used to designate any Air Force aircraft carrying the President.” (here) .

One can assume the same applies to cars carrying the President would be called the beast.

And I know that the limo is specifically referred to as “the Beast”

*but*

…is it fair to speculate that WH staffers might regularly refer to any armored presidential vehicle that happens to be carrying the president as “the Beast”, as a shortcut?

Otherwise there would be a lot of conversations like this going on:

John: Where’s the president?

Jane: I heard he was out in the Beast.

Ted: Well actually Jane, he’s out in his up-armored Chevy Suburban SUV, not his GM limousine.

Jane: Oh STFU Ted, you know what I mean.

Just taking a guess that maybe something like that could have been the cause of the discrepancy.

Hutchinson’s testimony:

“I looked at Tony. And he had said, did you effing hear what happened in the Beast? I said, no, Tony. I just got back. What happened?”

She wasn’t calling it the Beast, she said he called it the Beast.

And anyway, the rest of the story about grabbing the wheel only makes sense if he was in the SUV (which he was), not the limo.

"Never ask a question you do not know the answer to."

You KNOW the Committee is 4 steps ahead of EVERY QUESTION they are asking at these public hearings. And the OTHER thing to realize - they are directing these lines of questioning towards those that are NOT willing to cooperate - sending 'signals' that say: "Hey, notice how we 'asked' this? You DO realize that we know what the answer will be - and how it does RELATE to some matter regarding YOU!"

There should be some serious "sweat balls rolling" down the brows of those who thought they were 'above the fray.'

It has indeed taken a while - but DAYUM! - they're gonna' get them!

That was the reason that Cheney made a point of asking Cassidy if either Engel or Tony denied at the time, or at a later time, that the story they told her was true.

I’ve heard that there is a rule of thumb for trial lawyers to follow:

Never ask a witness a question that you don’t already know the answer to.

She’s got her stuff together for sure.

https://www.politicususa.com/2022/06/30/trump-raging-suburban.html

Despite the fact that the most important testimony coming out of Cassidy Hutchinson’s hearing on Tuesday concerned Trump wanting to lead what he knew to be an armed mob to “fight like hell” on Capitol Hill to stop the certification of Joe Biden, there can be no argument that the emotional “gut punch” testimony concerned Trump’s alleged attack on the Secret Service agents, attempting to grab the steering wheel (He has a history of recklessly grabbing things), and lunging at the throat of an agent.

Now it appears that there may be video of Trump at least raging in the vehicle. From Newsweek:

The January 6 Committee has tweeted a video of Donald Trump’s presidential limo following testimony that he allegedly tried to grab the steering wheel to drive it to the Capitol Building.

In it, behind a group of Trump supporters, a person can be seen moving their hands frantically inside the Chevy Suburban limo. It is not clear whether the person is gesturing towards the driver or other people in the car.

The MAGAs spent much of yesterday bragging that there was purportedly a statement by one of the agents that he wanted to testify that no such thing ever happened. However, too few knew of, or acknowledged, the Trump’s detail agent for the day, Robert Engel testified to the Committee on June 6th and there was almost no chance that the Committee would risk Hutchinson’s credibility on such inflammatory details without some sort of corroboration.

Why does Chump need to get into the car in order to return to the White House?
He's already there. This doesn't make sense.

The only reason he would get into the car would be to go somewhere else - like the Capitol for example. According to Cassidy, after Chump is in the car, the secret service agents tell him that he can't go because it's dangerous and off limits. Chump screams that he has to go because those are my people, they aren't going to hurt me. The only reason he would get in the car would be LEAVE the White House grounds.

Now the SS agents are disputing that, but their version doesn't make sense. I believe Cassidy because her version is the only one that sounds logical.
