A "Caspian Sea Summit" is being held in Turkmenistan, and Putin showed up today.
I have a weird hobby of checking in on the Turkmenistan news, because it is a daily dose of very surreal shit. I don't understand a word, but if you skim this broadcast regularly, I guarantee you will see some strange stuff.
Turkmenistan is the "North Korea of Central Asia", but unlike North Korea they have a lot of money for a kleptocracy due to huge gas reserves which are sold to their only customer, China due to pipeline connections.
Anyway, he does look a little more stressed than when last seen a few weeks ago.
The broadcast has a bunch of leaders arriving, meeting the president's father (Gurbanguly, who was featured on Colbert a while back) and then meeting the president (Serdar, the son of the previous dictator).
Time cues-
Putin arrives, walks down stairs from plane: 4:40
Watch the difference between his right and left arms as he walks.
Putin meets with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow: 11:50
Standing handshake and hands on legs - someone had mentioned in previous videos it seemed that he keeps his hands in contact with something stationary.
Putin meets with Serdar Berdimuhamedow: 20:10
Starts with a standing handshake, but either he doesn't like the comfy chair or he's running out of stamina. He looks flushed, nervous, and his posture is terrible. He speaks while looking at the floor.
I dunno, what do you see?
(After a long meeting there is a cavalcade of weird stuff starting around 1:28:00 to the end. This edition of the Turkmen nightly news is a little longer and different from the normal, because of the summit.)
