This would mean an end to the popular vote. So, no I doubt they will do that. Again, I respectfully ask that you dont bash me for my opinion that is based in law.

Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress: but no Senator or Representative, or Person holding an Office of Trust or Profit under the United States
Remember, there is no constitutional requirement to hold a public election for President. Each of the 50 state's have chosen to do so, but they are under no mandate.
