Ever since the last J6 hearing's report of intimidating messages received by Cassidy Hutchinson prior to her testimony, I've felt like I've heard them somewhere before. Clearly, they are "mob-style" shakedowns, written in that classic "nice place you've got here, it would be a shame if something happened to it" tone.
But that wasn't quite it. Yes, they are mob-style intimidation, but they reminded me of something more specific. Then it hit me: the language contained in them is just like the language used in the fundraising emails that Team Trump constantly sends out.
Here's Hutchinson at the last hearing:
From one of the messages Hutchinson received:
Now here are a few examples of Trump fundraising emails:

Pretty similar, right? They all lean heavily into the language of "Trump is WATCHING YOU and if you don't DO THE RIGHT THING then HE WON'T BE HAPPY WITH YOU."
And you only need to look at the Georgia election workers who had their lives turned upside down to take a guess at what might happen to you if you don't comply and Trump "notices you" and is "disappointed."
Threats and intimidation: just a normal day at the office in Trump World.

(10,885 posts)Yeah, tRump is borderline Tony Soprano, to be sure. He always has been, tho, learning at the right hand of his father. I grew up in southern CT an hour outside NYC, and the early tRump saga was on full display. He was "bad news" from the very beginning, and that's much the reason New Yorkers and those from surrounding areas hate his guts.
You're right. The witness intimidation threats and tRump's fundraising/campaign messages are in exactly the same tone. It's how he does business, and it's how he's teaching his spawn to do business also. Jr. is on track to be his clone.
Too bad we can't wake up and find it was all just a long episode of The Apprentice or The Sopranos that could be cancelled and never heard from again.
I see Ali Velshi is covering this same topic right now...
