Its a blow to the planet, and the ability for people to live on it.

(4,845 posts)They do not like that EPA gets to decide what requirements corporations need to follow. They believe that congress should be the ones making those rules/laws. But as you know, it's much easier to block and do nothing than to pass legislations. And it would waste democrats time when we are in office to try to pass these laws when we could have been working on other priorities of ours.

What if we put more education into our climate change conversations about what we can keep and what will no longer exist as this continues. Food for an example, the cows that provide beef can't exist in the heat and drought. Warmer water will mean less fish. Lack of water means less fruits and vegetables. The pigs providing the pork that is eaten will also go the way of the cows.
Maybe we should scare climate deniers by showing them that unless they change their ways they will have no choice but to become VEGAN! That will blow some heads.
I believe there was an article a week or so ago reporting that 1,000+ cows died in the recent heat wave.

(11,738 posts)It can be both and it is both. Yes, the ability of the EPA to regulate the largest polluting country on the planet, is important for the entire planet. It is also a political blow to the Biden Administration. Part of the Democratic platform is to make bold moves to mitigate the effects of climate change and limit the damage caused. A weak EPA hampers those efforts and will be portrayed as a lack of the Biden Administration being able to get things done.
