I don't live in the southern United States

That's a jpg of my Google search for 'Where can I get an abortion?' using a proxy server.

There is a fear of the surveillance that will come with post-Roe laws and that one's own internet searches could be used against them, but what protections will there be from malicious non-state actors?

I'm no tech dummy, but I'm no tech wizard either, and so if I could do this in a minute with only a thing I found online, what could someone with more technical know-how and their own dedicated technology do?

P.S. You will need to copy/paste the link. I can't get the DU software to make it "clickable".

But the national abortion federation listed seems like they might have information.
I didn't check the link. Sometimes these links lead to sites that encourage adoption.

I live in the south, in NC where it's still legal. My heart breaks for women seeking access to and information about abortions.

4. Incognito/Private for the browser plus a VPN

Using Incognito (Chrome) or Private (Firefox) keeps the trail off your computer. A VPN keeps it from your ISP's records. Using a VPN based in a country that respects privacy with keep their information from our Gazpacho (sic) police.

5. FLO - one of the most popular period apps just announced it will add an anonymous feature

I used FLO years ago to track my periods before deciding it was time to do something about fibroids that made my life hell.

Before the fall of Roe, I was thinking about using it again to track the erratic nature of pre menopause to menopause.

7. Using a reliable VPN will thwart most of the gov't snooping

Anyone can get a reliable - even free or lowcost - Virtual Private Network which is what VPN means.

When you have a VPN, you can go online and do your searching as you wish, but it cannot be tracked back to you. The government (or other snoops such as ISPs) cannot block the family planning websites, so their strategy is to track people who do the searches for them. Using a VPN can thwart that government intrusion for cellphones and for computer browser searches. You also should consider using a browser's "incognito window" which is offered by the Chrome browser and others. Incognito means that Google can't trace your searches or track your movement online as long as the incognito window is on. Also it's important to delete cookies after each session online, because those can also be tracked. These are simple ways of stealth (privacy) networking that anyone in a southern state can use, really anyone anywhere who's using our internet system.

I've had a TorGuard VPN account for almost 6 years and it's safe and reliable. I think they charge $60 per year. Other VPNs may be cheaper or free, so I suggest researching the various options of each. You should realize that it's not the same thing as an Internet Service Provider (ISP) because you need that too. What the VPN does is it hides your real internet address behind a temporary "false" address so you can do your searching and networking without being tracked. Each time you log into the VPN they give you a different "false" address that goes away as soon as you close the connection. Mainly it's needed for privacy, and many businesses use VPN as well as private individuals.

Especially thanks to SCROTUS.

Us in the states along the Canadian border are going to have to establish stringent immigration policies that stop deplorables from migrating northward.

I can’t tell you how many northerners live in my hometown.

It’s a friendly joke here because of the massive growth. “Can’t find your way around? Ask a yankee.”

The southwest is already on the leading edge of it.

When power generation stops at Lake Powell and Mead, that is when shit will hit the fan.

of northerners. Very, very few southerners.

In fact, they're coming to all the southern states in droves. Maybe WE should set up a border barrier!

I know how to use a VPN, I know how to use a proxy server.

I'm afraid of zombies.

We're not even thinking about that, are we?
