Can we set a new precedent and impeach a sitting SCOTUS Justice?

Two possibilities come to mind.

1. Sure just as soon as you come up with impeachable acts and the votes to impeach/convict.

2. Thomas for sure - clear conflict of interest with his insurrectionist wife's activities.

Perhaps the three that perjured themselves, especially the one two members of Congress say lied to them, too. I believe that was Kavanaugh.

3. Those are not crimes

But if Ginny is convicted of something like that, he can possibly be tripped as an accomplice



We can’t impeach just braise of conflict of interest. Then it would be made out to be political and not justified by the right. And they would do the same to ours. There must be clear crimes down.

They just never made it to the removal threshold

6. Wouldn't be a "new precedent" as SCJ Samuel Case was impeached in 1804.

He was acquitted by the Senate.

7. Impeachment would mean a not guilty verdict

In a 50-50 Senate. That would embolden any conservative Justice to go even farther to the right.
I just can't think of 17 Republican Senators who would vote guilty.
