He never was hinged in the first place. He has always been a simplistic psychopath with the temperament of a two year old. This is the guy who wanted - and got - a blow by blow account of how Kim Jong Un murdered his Uncle.
He killed his uncle and he put the body right in the steps," Trump said, in an apparent reference to a building used by senior officials. "And the head was cut off, sitting on the chest,"

and that is what Trump wanted .... for Mike Pence.

(406 posts)have never been hinged. They don't get the 'temporary insanity' crap or 'I didn't know it was wrong.' They get a padded cell and should have had one a long time ago.

(14,195 posts).... throw away the key....
.... focus on repairing the mess and damage he brought down upon our precious Democracy.
Close the loopholes he craftily exploited - so some other unscrupulous Fascist can not come along in the future and pull the same fucking bullshit again - but with more successful results of permanently transitioning AmeriKKKa into a full blown Nazi/Faux-Christian fucking Fascist State.

(14,195 posts)... lock all thems Fascists up.
Especially the one's who pre-e himptively asked for a fucking Tangerine Emperor's get out of jail pardon me and my Fascist inclinations and desires to trash American Democracy and render it totally dysfunctional and broken.
Fuck these Fascist monsters.
Treasonous and seditionous behaviors and conduct is not okay. They must be made to suffer repercussions for this failed Coup d' etat.
They damn near almost succeeded in capturing the three branches of government and building a total Fascist State.
We ain't out of the deep woods yet,... much remains to be done to harded and protect our Democracy from these Fascict zealots - who will come back again and again - to further exploit loopholes or create new loopholes via the Supreme Court - to construct their fevered dreams of a total Fascist Christian State of governance.

(351 posts)correct. Our laws and social system are rather naive when it comes to people not acting as they should. The laws are not written so as to prevent what occurred on Jan. 6th. The assumption that people love this country and will act in its best interest needs to be rethought from a perspective of that disaster, especially from the perspective of presidential power and the requirement of prosecution of those types of crimes. The only way our country works is with the social agreement that we want our country to succeed, and continue peacefully so that we all can pursue our dreams.

(111,110 posts)Even the Proud Boys, who have pleaded guilty to seditious conspiracy, are now saying they thought they were Trump's "militia". To listen to the handwringers on television, that is a perfect alibi for them. There simply is no evidence that Trump tried to incite an insurrection and over-throw our government. It is all heresay. No crimes were committed.
But, you knew that.

(10,274 posts)Witness after witness shared stories of someone completely divorced from reality, incapable of listening to anyone and completely unwilling to accept the most obvious facts. Apparently, Trump only pays attention to the voices in his head, the ones telling him exactly what he wants to hear.
I don't envy Garland's decision. Increasingly we're being left with the impression Trump is unhinged, and a potential trial would turn into a Captain Queeg-like spectacle, with Trump on the stand rolling steel balls around in his hand, babbling incoherently about the missing strawberries (or in his case, the stolen election).

(6,234 posts)My wife and I were always aware of Trump's lack of moral character.
He's always been a total dildo (mindless fucker).
A lifetime of not being held accountable for anything has made him 1000 times worse than he was as a young man.
To call him unhinged is a gross understatement.
He's morally depraved, and spiritually bankrupt...a very dangerous psychopath.
His hero is Putin...that says it all.

(5,074 posts)Everything he ever built was built on a foundation of lies and bully tactics. He lied to banks, he lied to investors, he lied to the people he hired to work for him. If he wanted something he grabbed it. By running for president, it was the culmination of his life. He had more people to con, more people to lie to. And since he was such a practiced liar, they believed every word he repeated to them over and over. He knew exactly what he was doing on January 6. For the first time in his life, he learned what "no" meant. His anger overrode the lesson unfortunately so he did not learn anything.

(14,195 posts)His driving force,... his motivations to greet tomorrow,... is that the gift he accomplished today can be toped and superseded by a more sophisticated scheme of grift that he can pull together to shyster his next victim come tomorrow. The bigger and better the grift he achieves tomorrow is what makes him glow and feel warm inside.
trDUMP is an accomplished understudy of Damion here of earth. Donald is third (3rd) generation of the procreation of the Devil. His skills have been honed specifically and explicitly for this single purpose - to advance the cause of evil.
He is the proficient emissary of all that is evil, hurtful, destructive and dysfunctional. He is a swindler, he is a fraud, and he is an unapologetic shyster extraordinaire absent any iota of remorse.
Many many AmeriKKKans are captured by the grip of the devil,... it is truly astounding how many millions upon millions upon more millions - who voted for this human scum - we casually call TFG.
He must be finally eradicated from society and removed from any vestige of governance or participation in American Democracy in any shape or form. Lest he contaminate and defile this grand experiment of Democracy - to its own destruction, dissolution, and ultimate total demise.
Only the Devil or his chosen agent would wish that upon us or this country.
We must fight this ultimate evilness with all the wisdom and strength we can muster - and put this monster to rest. Trump is the culmination of evil that has infected the Republican Party for decades upon decades of in your face creeping Fascistic tendencies. We must bend the arc of justice and force the pendulum to swing in the direction of that which exemplifies goodness, fairness, compassion for humankind. That is diabolically opposite from the direction that Trump World seeks to deliver us.

(68,735 posts)a price...losing the election was the worst thing that could happen to him. I don't know if he will be indicted or not...I just don't care. He is out of office...that is what I wanted. I hope we are able to get his henchmen so the next group won't do what an outlaw president wants them to. But you have to prove anything in a court of law...and knowing and proving are different...and I think we will always have a MAGA asshat jurist...unfortunately.

(68,735 posts)impeached. Trump needs to be ignored...maybe we indict him or maybe we don't. He will never win the presidency again in any case. I am sick of him. There is no reason to impeach a person who is out of office and voters who want us to help them won' like it.
