Been watching a few "Karen" videos on Youtube...

Personally, it's been a number of years, maybe 20 or more since the time a brat rammed my leg with a shopping cart, I yelled at the kid and was chewed out by the Mom.
(She ended up thrown out of the store.)

How about you people?
Any "Karen" encounters, male or female?

The -45 loving neighbors, a couple doors down, decided it was safe for her kids to play in my driveway which services four dwellings in a small area. She couldn't see them from her place at all and would have had to be right there to be "watching" them. All the kids were under ten except one. And they scream the whole time they are playing, it's bad enough I have to hear them from their back yard, I don't need them right outside my open window. And if one got hurt, the parents would be suing in a heartbeat.

So I asked the kids if they lived here or were visiting anyone here. Of course the answer was "no". So I asked them to go play at their house. A few minutes later, Karen arrives at my door with a vape pen and a mouth full of ignorance. Once I got her off my porch, she went to the kids and ranted about me in a profanity laced blowout.

The kids came back a few minutes later and I sent them home again and called the cops. About an hour later, as I was leaving to run errands, the cops showed up. I was already away from the house so I kept going.

When I returned there were three times as many kids and adults all out in their driveway waiting for me to get home. Two minutes later there were a ton of kids wheeling around in the driveway, around our cars, squealing. So I went out on my porch and the oldest kid looks at me like, "wut?". So I calmly told him that I did not go to his house and annoy them so why are they in my driveway? He blasted off.

A minute later a different Karen comes screeching up the hill to my driveway, "You have to get permission to talk to my kids!" To which I responded, "If you're worried about me talking to your kids, keep them the fuck away from me and my home!" and went inside.

As I looked out the window I saw that she never made it to the driveway but now had summoned all the wannabe tough guy hubbies and pointing to my place and the hubbies making noises like a lynch mob. So I called the cops again and told them that the neighbors were escalating the earlier problem and I felt threatened in my own home. I then told the dispatcher that someone whom they will listen to needs to come and tell them that they need to keep their kids on their property of public property and that if they trouble me again, I'll get restraining orders for every single one of them including their kids. I told her i have PTSD and I might get nasty if provoked.

They have stayed the hell away from me ever since.

Lately their -45 decorations are no longer displayed all over their front door.

They don't know who I know. I worked at the city/county for a short spell and now I know everyone of import and can call on them for attention, though I have yet to do that except for dispatch, I have a good relationship with them and they responded when I have called in the past to report emergencies and such.

I went to my son's home for a barbecue dinner a few weeks ago. Since his neighbor had given him some beef he decided to grill up one of the large packages and invite them. I was fine with that but was unprepared for their young daughter about 8 or 9 years old.

The youngster I know she loves their two Yorkies and the dogs love her. The problem is that she joyfully screamed while playing with them for three hours. Dinner got delayed and my calm quite visit had been destroyed. I left tired, nerves jangled and hungry.

The mother carried on like. Nothing was wrong, the screaming child was never told to play quietly.

I know my son and daughter in law were being good neighbors, but the consideration did not go both ways.
I hold my son to never invite me over if they are also invited.

I have to have my distance from loud kids. I just can't be at ease with the sound interruption.

It's good you let your son know you didn't have a pleasant time with the neighbor's kid.

Just have to stand up for yourself.

the shrieking is inside the house. With hearing aids it's like a knife to the brain.

30+ years ago, I lived in an apartment that had a window facing a daycare's outside playground.

I got fed up with the kids there screaming, even if they scream when they are happy, it just jangles my nerves.

I finally went to the fence outside, and talked to one of the adults there supervising, pointed to my window and asked them to stop the screaming.

They did.

But I would have done the same, I mean I asked the kids politely and I wasn't angry. But kids will say someone "yelled" at them simply because they corrected or asked them to think about what they were doing. And maybe the older kid wanted to see if their parents were going to kick my ass like they were probably claiming they might.

Magat's kids can do some pretty awful shit.

Trump is her “handsome and brave” president.

She will overhear strangers and will get right in their faces at inappropriate places like farmers market.

Recently a friend created a site for humor and sweet stuff only. NO Politics.

So naturally she posts a joke that ended with LET’S GO BRANDON.

My friend removed it and got a phone call about free speech. Karen took it on line and ranted about woke feeb liberals.

No one responded to her at all. No one.

at least, funny to watch. The fact that these self-entitled pricks and ****s go around making other people's lives miserable is actually depressing.

I do like seeing them get their comeuppance, though.

10. I can handle the authoritarian women; it's the males who are killing me.

Whenever I see these Karen memes I am reminded that there is no equivalent term for men. The “male-Karen” label just doesn’t do it, though I appreciate the intent to equalize.

I think there is no equivalent term for men because we do live in a society that is patriarchal-a society dominated by men and fundamentally unequal. A society in which the rights of women can be often ignored, undermined, and then taken away overnight as has now happened.

I am not going to be laughing at any so-labeled Karen, any female who aligns with the powerful in a patriarchy only enjoys what status she has at the pleasure of the powerful. Her rights too can be taken away overnight.

Why is there no masculine name equivalent for overbearing, dominating behaviors that aim to limit our rights and liberty? I would say it is to protect the status quo, that very patriarchal system that has declared women less than full persons.

Women will be dying for want of medical care. Some of these so-called Karens and their daughters will be among the dead. Men will not die. Yet all the deaths will be sacrifices to a social system dedicated to elevating that male part of the population over me and all women.

So I think I must direct my wrath and my ridicule at the powerful males who are killing in defense of their own power.
