However, it should be stipulated, not by the Democrats.
But, if the Republicans were serious about their Party and our Country, and more than twenty of them were willing to find guilty and to convict, I'm sure the Democrats might help them in their mission?
Democrats tried it twice it never worked. They had all the evidence they needed but Republicans were in love and would have no part of it. Democrats would not attempt it again.
But, if enough Republicans saw the danger in another Trump presidency, and wanted to prevent it from happening, I'm sure the Democrats would be willing to discuss it with them.
However, I am not certain it can even be done with the former criminal president?
Or maybe they would rather tie their fortunes to Merrick Garland and the DOJ?

(3,407 posts)Come on, Kentuck. There are better ways to go after him in the criminal and civil division of law enforcement. Let those elements run their courses.
I really don't think you can impeach someone who isn't in office. It kind of doesn't make any sense since the ultimate goal of impeachment is to remove the individual following a Senate trial. Since Trump doesn't hold an office, he cannot be removed from it so this is a moot point.
If he's a convicted felon, however, he'll be too busy with other things than running for political office

Donald Trump is not a president, vice president or civil officer of the United States.
