CNN showed a pic of Crimo's 2nd gun in car. Its a Kel-Tec Sub 2000

Last edited Thu Jul 7, 2022, 01:53 PM - Edit history (2)

LEO and media are not identifying his weapons for some reason.

Its a lightweight carbine that shoots pistol calibre ammo like 9mm or .40.

It’s best known for being able to fold in half easily and reassemble by simply unfolding it.

Its sold with 10 round mags but there are after market magazines with higher capacity

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kel-Tec_SUB-2000

Picture of gun as shown on CNN:

?c=16x9&q=h_270,w_480,c_fill

(Changed pic to CNN news poc amd Edited out some personal stuff because of some unhappy people. I intended this OP to be informational)

ETA: An LEO guest on CNN stated that he believes the gun used in the parade massacre was a Smith & Wesson M&P15, a standard AR-15 design.

We allow cars that can go so fast. There is no reason anyone ever needs to go a 100 miles an hour over the highest posted speed limit.

Why not require governors on all cars allowing them to go no more than 80 miles per hour? Accidents would be less deadly and high speed chases would the chases would become a thing of the past.

It's the perfect pistol caliber rifle for turning a peaceful community into a war zone.

38. Its far less concealable than a handgun that uses the same ammo.

A handgun is less concealable than a pocket watch.

The intention and functional utility of a long gun for shooting up a crowd of people is why weapons like this should be heavily regulated and the people who use them should be registered and monitored by the authorities.

46. I support more regulation of semi-auto with detachable mags, too.

Raising the age for ownership is an easy one, but some kind of registry with a deeper background check would be helpful.

I just don’t understand how someone boasts about their big guns while we mourn shooting victims all over this country.

You should have just deleted and started over instead of chastising us in your edit.

43. Kel-Tec PF9

My only remaining gun is a Kel-Tec PF9 9mm CCW I’ve had for years. I do have several clips and I know how to use it. I sure don’t need an AR15 or an Uzzie for home defense. I sold off the guns my Dad left me (retired cop). To be honest I’m glad to be rid of them.

45. My impression of Kel-Tek is that they make cheap, unreliable guns.

Not sure if it's true, but it's an impression I have.

I compare them with the very cheap and poorly made RG handguns, which should have never been allowed to be sold due to it's dangerous unreliability.

But I’ve shot several (some a lot) and they’ve held up to my range abuse.

The notable thing about Kel-tec is they often make innovation in designs.

Some of their reliability reputation is due to quality issues, but also the kinks not being worked out of new designs and people using the wrong ammo.

That is a perfect example of a firearm that has no function whatsoever except to kill people. No function other than that.

Mine function fine at the range and target practice. Are mine weird?

Some people I know keep them folded up in locked compartments in their trucks and use them for small animal pest control on their farms. They must have custom altered them.

But yes, they can be used to kill people in self-defense or homicidal acts like most guns.
