Last year, Gov. Greg Abbott signed over a dozen laws protecting gun ownership, including most notably, House Bill 1927, known as the constitutional carry or permitless carry bill.

"Texas will always be the leader in defending the Second Amendment, which is why we built a barrier around gun rights this session," Abbott said last June. The governor offered condolences to the victims and their families on Wednesday, as did several other Texas lawmakers.

Uvalde proved that. The cops outnumber the child killer a hundred to one or more and they had vests, shields, helmets...the whole works but were still too scared to take action.

That a certain kevel of losses are to be expected and accepted when completing a mission. And that level of loss can be quite high when the mission is critical such as saving the lives of children.
