Welcome back to the Top 10 Conservative Idiots! Oh… hello! I know, right? Well we’re busy tidying up the ol’ set here at our headquarters at the Constellation Room at the Observatory OC in Santa Ana, California while we get ready for the new season! And yes, we are planning to take this thing on the road big time this season including to some new destinations we haven’t been to before like Wyoming , Nebraska, Hawaii and even Vancouver! That’s right – we’re going Canadian this season! But we do have one big announcement for this Best Of – you know what’s coming – the World Tour 2022! That’s right – we’ve been talking about it since March and it’s finally here! So why are we doing this, you might ask? I say that it’s fairly simple. When we last visited the entire world, it was 2017. A hell of a lot can change in 5 years. Not only that we’ve been through a major pandemic that affected literally the entire world and now that it’s finally starting to go the wayside, we are going to see how things have changed since we last visited these countries. We’re even adding some new destinations that we haven’t been to before in the mix. But enough of my nonsense, here’s what you really want! By the way keep in mind that there will be a Top 10, but no World Tour on August 11th because that edition is going to be entirely dedicated to the 5th anniversary of our favorite religious segment Holy Shit! Anyway here are the tour dates – let’s fucking go! And yes just like last time, we’re hitting all 6 continents!
All right that’s enough of the intro, we have a Best Of to get to! But first John Oliver is back and he talks about the entire world’s dwindling water supply, and it is a making of our own design and denial:
So for this Best Of, we are diving into the ol’ viewer mailbag because I’m sure that since we’ve been gone for nearly 6 weeks now, a lot of you have some burning questions! And we’re here to answer all of them! Well, maybe some of them. In the number one slot, all the way back to Idiots #3-6, while the GOP is currently obsessed with what’s on Hunter Biden’s laptop, a member of that former guy’s own family (1) may have committed some, um, light, uh treason. And speaking of that Former Guy (2), from Idiots #3-25, remember his obsession with fast food? Well it turns out that may be an incredibly unhealthy way to go (shocker) but his grotesque and excessive McDonald’s order may be to blame for his poor health! In the number 3 slot, from our Top 10 Hot 10 Edition, Idiots #9-4, America’s got a police brutality problem and a prison problem and not only isn’t doing anything about it, but is actively making the situation that much worse! In the number 4 slot from Idiots #6-16, we play our favorite game – IS IT RACIST? (spoiler alert! Probably) and not just one, but two different MLB teams are feuding over the use of the original version of God Bless America, and well let’s just say one is right and the other is wrong! In the number 5 slot, from Idiots #5-15, our crack investigative team in Top 10 Investigates (5), in an award winning segment, takes a look at a controversial plastic surgery procedure that could possibly kill you in a piece called “DEATH By Butt Injection!”. The June 3, 2016, email sent to Donald Trump Jr. could hardly have been more explicit: One of his father’s former Russian business partners had been contacted by a senior Russian government official and was offering to provide the Trump campaign with dirt on Hillary Clinton.
The documents “would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia and would be very useful to your father,” read the email, written by a trusted intermediary, who added, “This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr. Trump.”
If the future president’s elder son was surprised or disturbed by the provenance of the promised material — or the notion that it was part of an ongoing effort by the Russian government to aid his father’s campaign — he gave no indication.
He replied within minutes: “If it’s what you say I love it especially later in the summer.”

I love that movie. Particularly the scene where a woman walks up to Frank and says “Is this some kind of bust?” Which he responds “Well, it’s very impressive, yes.”. So with that admission – Trump Jr. basically responded with what amounts to, as George Bluth would call it, some “light treason”. What would that entitle, exactly?

Paul Buttler was clear as he methodically detailed why there is more than probable cause to charge Donald Trump Jr. with a crime.
"This is smoking gun evidence of collusion, Andrea," Professor Paul Butler said. "Collusion itself is not a crime. What is a federal offense, is soliciting a campaign contribution from a foreign national like a Russian government operative. A campaign contribution is defined in the statute as anything of value. So it could be money. But it is also a service like opposition research, like dirt on Hillary Clinton. So right now at this moment, there is probable cause to charge Donald Trump Jr. with a federal offense."

The Russian lawyer who peddled dirt on Hillary Clinton to Donald Trump Jr. has ties to former Russian military and intelligence officials, a key congressional committee will hear in testimony next week.
William Browder, an American financier who has investigated Russian corruption for more than a decade, will brief the Senate Judiciary Committee at a hearing next week on the lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya’s ties to the Russian government—including to former top members of the GRU and the FSB, two of the Kremlin’s main intelligence agencies. Those ties were spelled out in documents that Browder shared with the committee and provided to The Daily Beast this week.
“Veselnitskaya may have had her own agenda in requesting a meeting with Trump,” according Rolf Mowatt-Larssen, a former CIA officer who led the agency’s European directorate of operations. “But Russian intelligence practice is to co-opt such a person by arming them with secret intelligence information and tasking them to pass it to Trump’s people and get their reaction.”
“The key point is that essentially no Russian citizen or lawyer has compromising material on Hillary Clinton which has not been supplied to them from Russian intelligence,” Mowatt-Larssen wrote on Tuesday. “The simple assertion that she had such information is tantamount to declaring that Veselnitskaya was acting as agent of Russian government in this particular role.”

Trump screams at his top aides, who are subjected to expletive-filled tirades in which they get their “face ripped off.”

You put them in your disaster preparedness kit and then you never see them ever again! Those things are not meant for human consumption. But here’s the thing – Trump loves fast food for the cleanliness despite that his own restaurant failed to meet health standards (see: Idiots #2-20. But how clean are they?

The company found that fast food restaurants had lower bacteria counts overall, and many times, germs were contained in the bathrooms (a small relief, though you may want to use that toilet seat cover next time). In five-star restaurants, germs were evenly divided between the bathrooms and condiments. The reason, according to the report authors, is the extra layer of dish-washing at nicer restaurants as many casual places utilize disposable utensils.
Bacillus cereus bacteria, which was found to be more prevalent in the five-star establishments, are found in food items and can cause diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. Gram positive cocci, which was found in fast-food restaurants, is responsible for staph infections. So neither strain is exactly pleasant.

There might be white collar resort prisons, like Office Space or Arrested Development, but those are places you wouldn’t want to be either.

Massachusetts had a weekend furlough program for state prisoners. One prisoner, William Horton, had been sentenced to life without parole for murder. Horton was released for a weekend furlough and never came back. He committed assault, armed robbery, and rape before he was captured.
An independent-expenditure campaign ran now-famous ads that featured a mug shot of Horton, a Black man. The ads called Horton “Willie,” although Horton had always gone by “William.” Jesse Jackson and other Democrats charged that the ads were racist. The racism charge just seemed to make matters worse.
The first question to Dukakis in the second presidential debate was whether he would still oppose the death penalty, his long-held position, if his own wife was raped and murdered. Dukakis seemed dazed by the question and robotically gave his prepared, impassive answer on the death penalty.
The 1992 Democratic nominee, Bill Clinton, was determined to avoid the same fate as Dukakis, and the same “soft on crime” attack. He said Democrats should not “feel guilty about protecting the innocent.” Clinton interrupted his campaign to return to Arkansas for the execution of Ricky Ray Rector, an African American who murdered two people. Rector suffered serious brain damage from a suicide attempt after the murders. The brain damage did not affect Rector’s culpability, but his ability to assist in his own defense was doubtful in the extreme. The execution was controversial around the world. Clinton offered no pardon and no reprieve.

Yeah no, that’s exactly what prison is like. Look, we support the police here. I know cops, I’m related to cops. And they will tell you exactly how they feel about the job and what they get wrong. But like take for instance, Joe Arpaio, who many call the worst cop in the nation, maybe one of the worst in American history. Well guess what? Smith sang the tune live during game six of the 1974 Stanley Cup finals, which the Flyers went on to win against the Boston Bruins, taking home the coveted trophy. But as Anastasia Tsioulcas reports for NPR, the Flyers recently announced that they will no longer play Smith’s recording of “God Bless America” at games. A statue of the singer that stood outside the team’s arena has been removed.
The sudden change of heart was prompted by revelations that Smith had recorded at least two songs with racist lyrics in the 1930s. Well that is a good question! And I think this outrage concerning Kate Smith is walking a fine line between “is it racist” and it is not racist. So let’s expand on this further – it’s not just the Flyers – the Yankees also jumped ship on Kate Smith. But are they overreacting? Yeah probably. So why now – some nearly 33 years after Kate Smith died? Well there’s lots of reasons.

And while no final conclusions have been made, we are erring on the side of sensitivity.”

Well Jason, back in 2017 we went out on a 27 country tour and literally toured most of the entire world and it was a massive success. But the reason why we’re going back out on a World Tour is because it’s been 5 years since then and things have changed. A lot. So we’re going back to find out what’s been happening! So that said, here’s a preview of what to expect when the new season starts on the 28th!

No, it’s a global problem that is stemming far and wide, and it’s not just America where conservative idiots ruin everything they touch. So if you want a recap of where we’ve been so far, in the last few weeks we’ve discovered that Australia is a few steps away from nationalizing gay marriage, Saudi Arabia has begun a real-life purge, and the UAE’s excessive greed is unmatched anywhere. We are back in North America everybody! Man this World Tour has been great so far hasn’t it? All of our host countries have been amazing so far. With the exception of Saudi Arabia, I don’t think we’ll be going back there. But before we begin this one, I feel as is tradition, we should start with the Canadian national anthem:
OK you may be seated! So Canada is one of the world’s largest countries and it has a lot to offer. There’s 13 Canadian provinces – British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, Newfoundland , New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Yukon Territory, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut. Canada is also the home of one of my favorite sports – hockey! Nothing feels good like a good hip check, doesn’t it? And Canada takes their hockey seriously. They have the Vancouver Canucks, the Edmonton Oilers, the Winnipeg Jets, the Montreal Canadians, the Ottawa Senators, and the Calgary Flames. Toronto, Canada is the home of Toronto’s only professional baseball team – the Toronto Blue Jays, while Vancouver has Canada’s only NBA team – the Grizzlies. Canada is also the home of Banff National Park where you can see and stay in actual old school log cabins. And Toronto is the home of the CN tower – which has an actual revolving restaurant in it. And remember if you play Civilization V, the CN Tower is also one of the key wonders that will help you win a cultural victory. Canada is also the home of the Canadian Football League – and it is drastically different from the United States’ NFL. And the differences are way too many to list, so we’ll just link you to this handy Wikipedia page. But what else is Canada the home of? Well if you want to know what a nuclear war between the US and North Korea might look like, look no further!
Canadian and U.S. officials quietly held exercises last spring to practise dealing with worst-case nuclear scenarios — running through simulated attacks on both sides of the border, CBC News has learned.
The training took place against the backdrop of federal officials in this country discreetly revising contingency plans, including one to reconstitute the federal government outside of Ottawa should the capital become "unviable" in an attack or natural disaster.
Exercises are done on an annual, or semi-annual, basis, but the latest came amid fresh urgency in light of the worsening international climate, particularly with North Korean nuclear and intercontinental missile tests, the latest of which happened Tuesday.

The insinuation from Conservatives, as highlighted in Raitt's quote from a fundraising letter last week, is that the Liberals are soft on terrorists.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau shot back in a fiery exchange with Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer on Tuesday, defending the government's approach even as he accused the Tories of scaremongering.
"We have enforcement, surveillance, and national security tools that we use to a significant degree," he said.

Canada decriminalized homosexuality in 1969, yet records of the convictions remain. The bill earmarks 4 million Canadian dollars ($3.11 million) over the next two fiscal years to carry out the destruction of these criminal records.
Trudeau also announced an agreement had been reached in a class-action lawsuit for 110 million Canadian dollars ($85.80 million) to be paid out to former civil servants and members of the military who lost their jobs because of their sexual orientation. A ban on lesbian and gay military service persisted until 1992.

Winnipeg hospitals still have the longest emergency department wait times in the country, but recent changes have already brought improvements, a Winnipeg Regional Health Authority official says.
There were four Winnipeg emergency departments in the top five longest wait times at hospital ERs in the country, a report from the Canadian Institute for Health Information says.
CIHI's latest wait-times report, released Thursday, gathered information from 209 hospitals across Canada for the fiscal year 2016-17. Quebec and Newfoundland and Labrador do not submit data to CIHI. Smaller hospitals are sometimes not included due to low ER visit numbers.
The Victoria General Hospital ER, which closed in October and became an urgent care centre, was second worst in the country, at six hours. The Concordia Hospital emergency department, which is also slated to close, had the worst wait time in the country, at 6.1 hours. “It was a watershed event in how it represents the infiltration of radical right-wing ideas in a violent form as we’ve also seen in the U.S. and Europe,” said James Ellis, project lead at the Canadian Network for Research on Terrorism, Security and Society.

Reuters, citing three sources familiar with the matter, reported that an announcement will be made next week. The Canadian government is not commenting on the report.
In late September, Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan acknowledged that Canada was focused on purchasing surplus Australian F-18s for interim aircraft. “As you know, we are pursuing the options with the Australians at this time,” he told journalists.
In early October, the National Post reported Canada had taken the first official step to purchasing the used fighter jets from Australia. The Canadian government submitted a formal expression of interest on Sept. 29 to Australia to acquire the aircraft, Public Services and Procurement Canada confirmed.
