At a recent hearing that left Bannons legal strategy in tatters, his lawyer David Schoen asked U.S. District Court Judge Carl J. Nichols, whats the point of going to trial if there are no defenses? The judge replied simply: Agreed.
The exchange was a remarkable comedown for the combative, bombastic Bannon team that live-streamed his declaration, were taking down the Biden regime as he surrendered to the FBI in late 2021 on charges he had illegally flouted the House committee probing Jan. 6.
The judges response was a lawyerly way of urging Bannon to seek a plea deal with the government, rather than face long odds at a short trial, said Randall Eliason, a George Washington University law professor and former federal prosecutor.
Obviously everyones entitled to a trial, but usually if you go to trial theres some kind of legal or factual dispute that needs to be resolved, Eliason said. The judges point is, there arent really any here In those instances, going to trial becomes what prosecutors sometimes call a long guilty plea.

(3,054 posts)Wasting their time on a case that has no merits. They look forward to this more than anything. Bannon has zero conditional awareness and I hope they throw the book at him

(9,196 posts)in the courtroom tearing down Biden, insulting the prosecutors, and showing that Trump won. Federal judges tend not to put up with much (and by much, I mean any) bullshit.

Money from the dark networks: CNP and the evangelicals, and their millions of tentacles
Money from the foreign interests: USSR, China, perhaps Saudi Arabia and other "friendlies"
And then, of course - money from the dumb-shits who donate to these types of people. The dumb-shits that are cutting off their noses to spite their ugly mugs.

(15,328 posts)Certainly seems that a lot of the recent crimming revelations come from places like the USSS, DHS. I'm also expecting(hoping) to see a lot of DOD worms squirming. These may also include agencies such as the CIA, NSA, etc.

Our air will drastically improve as soon as they get the boot. Not in the ass, upside their Fuckin heads. In honor of all that died and served the country for what they were told it should be or could be. That traitorous pus bag was actually in our White House and on our airplane. (81,443 posts)What can we do about them?
And assuming there are obstructions in our way, HOW do we GET AROUND those obstructions?
Think like a Republican, maybe. They're ALWAYS trying to get around, get underneath, get over, and/or otherwise manipulate the rules and regs to bend reality to their wishes.
WHY THE HELL DON'T WE DO THAT???
I'm sorry. I don't like it. But if THAT'S the playing field, and THOSE are the "rules," then WHY aren't WE using, abusing, twisting, and exploiting those "rules" to OUR benefit?
If that's the way the game is played now, then, GAME ON!

I mean, if he wants to go medieval...
And he should be relieved he does not stand accused of adultery. Ask John the Tanner
