Now normally I wouldnt post stuff like this, certainly not in this forum, but it is in the an example of how this stuff gets into your head.
In the dream, which for me was unusually clear, I was actually part of Donald Trumps coterie. I was in the White House, I was in Bedminster, I was in New York in cars with him and other family members and of course the way dreams work theres an instantaneous shift from one context to another. Now the entire time I have my sensibilities and Im screaming at myself that I need to get away from this and get out of here because this is pure insanity, and it was uncanny because it was actually in color and vivid. I remember having dialogs with him and others and he bordered on the irrational even for a dream and yet I could not get away. I awakened scared to death and thanked God to see the projected clock on my ceiling was just a few minutes before I had to get up and out of bed.
I was thinking as I was taking a shower that he has become an inescapable part of our lives and our psyches which is really really frightening. In the film Silence of the Lambs one of the most poignant lines was when the FBI agent tells Clarice not to let Lecter get into her head. Well, this guy has certainly gotten into mine and my emotional health is none the better for it.
I had posted the other day that I felt the reason that Bidens low poll numbers were accentuated was because Trump is still in the news in an omnipresent fashion and has eclipsed everything and everyone else in the country. It is really really frightening and I will be honest with you and tell you that I rarely have dreams with recognizable characters including family and friends. This particular dream for me personally was so horrifying because it was anomalous in so many ways, and in a crazy way is worrisome both philosophically and psychologically.
Well, there you have it my therapy session for the day is in concluded. To whom do I make out the check?

(25,541 posts)As was Brainstorm which was Natalie Woods last film.
It is fascinating that so few films are made concerning dreams which play such a large role in the lives of so many people.
A funny thing: many many years ago a girlfriend of mine awakened next to me and hit me while I was in dead sleep. I was awakened and said what the hell was that for? She said I just had a dream and you were BAD in the dream. She was otherwise quite rational but was overcome by her emotionality from the dream. It was weird AF.

(5,165 posts)To what you want. You could have squared up to that turd and told him that he's a loser man baby and will be going to jail, then quit. As you walk away, you watch as everyone else does the same, while he stands there alone with a full diaper that needs changing.
You wouldn't have needed the alarm clock, you would have jumped out of bed singing zippity do da.
He's a loser, this is the real world fact. Facts matter.

(31,384 posts)where I have awakened because of extremely loud, menacing noises that feel like someone is in my house. That's after a trip to the ER on Monday where I was anxious enough to get chest pain and shortness of breath evaluated for a heart attack. It was not.
I have a follow up appointment with my primary doc tomorrow. I'm now pretty much convinced that I have a chronic level of anxiety that's high enough to generate symptoms that could be a heart attack, especially for us women who often don't have the crushing chest pain that many men have.
I've had anxiety since 2016. Between politics and my personal life, it's been awful for years. But in the last couple of months, since Dobbs, the 4th of July parade shooting, other shootings-- both national and local-- the Jan 6 hearings, and endless COVID, I have never felt such despair for the country.
This morning I have decided to make a plan to attempt to control this anxiety, which is rooted in fear of the future which is mostly beyond my control. So far I have made a number of decisions to change my normal daily routine.
We'll see how it goes.
Good luck with facing your anxiety.

A professional hypnotist tried to warn us. Doesnt let corporate mass media off the hook, neither. How the Demented Dumpo did it:
Hypnotist Richard Barker Shows How Trumpnosis, Donald Trump's Form of Covert Hypnosis, Affects Millions Around the World

ORLANDO, Fla., March 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Hypnotist Richard Barker has just released research surrounding mass hypnosis and has coined the phrase "Trumpnosis".
Trumpnosis.com has been receiving lots of interest as of late. Covert hypnosis means having access to people's subconscious mind and altering the way they behave and think in a disguised or somewhat hidden way. Some popular covert hypnosis techniques used to align someone's behavior and thoughts to the desired outcome of the hypnotists are displayed during mass hypnosis.
Barker typically refers to mass hypnosis as "Trumpnosis", since he states, "Mr. Trump displays it so well". The media have also made comments regarding the Hypnotizing of a nation and questioned what is happening to America. Through the words and actions of an individual, can we influence and suggest a nation to think a certain way? Richard Barker who is known as the 'Incredible Hypnotist' thinks so. Barker said, "Everything we do and see must first start with a thought process. We don't see the world; we think it. If your thoughts are influenced by a master Hypnotist to think in a certain way on a mass level, this is 'Trumpnosis'".
Mass Hypnotism can apply to everything and be everywhere in families, in schools and in politics. The influence and use of repetition on crowds is identified through Mr. Trump's speeches and is seen to influence even the most enlightened minds. The power is due to the fact that the repeated statements are embedded in those profound regions of our subconscious mind.
Donald Trump successfully uses techniques such as pacing and leading, anchoring, verbal confusion, repetition and so on. He successfully bypasses the critical factor in minds of some people and has the ability to turn off the rational thinking. By using certain words and behavior, a speaker can very quickly establish a rapport with an audience. Repeated exposure to the same speaker can result in them being viewed with admiration, bordering on worship. Every word uttered is accepted as the complete truth.
Through the words he has used, both now and in the past, he has placed others into a hypnotic state without them knowing," says Barker. "Trump's speeches contains hypnosis techniques of hypnotic anchoring, pacing and leading, critical factor bypass and so on."
Hypnotist Richard Barker insists, "All you need to remember is that most people's needs are based on their instincts. Understanding people's instincts, especially in a mass gathering, is one of the key goals of mass hypnosis. Trumpnosis is a vehicle for enabling large groups of people to have an altered belief system."
Richard Barker is a World Renowned Professional Hypnotist. He has spent the last 20 years working with thousands of clients across the world. Richard Barker has recently appeared on NBC's The Today Show, CBS' The Late Late Show with James Corden, FOX's Good Day LA and News channels for FOX and ABC http://incrediblehypnotist.com
He has written a new book focusing on Persuasion and Suggestion titled, "Selling Hypnotically. The Art Of Suggestion" http://sellinghypnotically.com

(32,634 posts)... however I fully believe that Chump has intentionally hypnotized (some say brainwashed) a lot of these folks. Social media has helped him too, showing all those incessant video clips on their phones and laptops.
I find his voice abhorrent anymore, and I turn the channel on my TV whenever he pops up unexpectedly. Chump has become the "Big Brother" character of Orwell's book "1984." I'll bet George Orwell is turning in his grave.
Good post on this Trumpnosis theory. It deserves its own OP I think.

(1,368 posts)I had 2 dreams in 2000-2001.
The first one with Al Gore on 12/9/00, I told him I was sorry he wasn't president, he replied, "I am doing more not being President than if I'd won."
The second dream I had I was in a plane crash with W. and he, Laura, and I were the only survivors, I asked him "How could you do this to us?" He told me "It's in the book, (my name) I had to do it, the book says."
I remember these dreams so vividly, and I believe you will too.
My mother told me when I was a child that everything in your dreams represents some part of you, but, she was a fortune teller, so....I have no clue!

(51,093 posts)We were sitting across from each other at a large table.
He said "We've already won, you just don't know it."
Then he threw back his head and evil laughed.
I was just frozen, watching this.
But then.....
He stood up and he was wearing a grass skirt.
So I really have no clue what that means.
