Using my phone at the moment, I will edit here in a minute with the link but I wouldve thought this would be a big story here today.
This is what happens when people dont vote particularly in 2016 wind up with how many new Trump judges which in this case are willing to abandon the rule of law.
I am sure theres already a thread here about it I just have a hard time finding things on my phone versus my laptop.

Since when do judges tell defense attorneys after a case is over how they can get them to dismiss the case?
Oh yes, see my other post about this judge.

(3,397 posts)The judge said that he's willing to hear arguments that the case should be dismissed.
This could be because he's a RW asshole judge. It could be that he wants to do this so that the conviction is appeal proof.

(901 posts)arguments from both sides. He said the governments case was strong enough to convict. Bannon's argument is that it wasn't fair.

(17,783 posts)all he said was that he wants to hear more from the defense on this, and the prosecution will get to rebut their motion.
Your thread is incorrect.

(31,336 posts)he flat out ignored a valid subpoena. It doesn't get any clearer than that, unless the judge is a fascist.
Don't scoff at Trump's request for absolute immunity, we already have a fascist SC.

(34,282 posts)The judge, Carl J. Nichols, a longtime corporate lawyer who was appointed to the United States District Court for the District of Columbia in 2019 by President Donald Trump, had bond holdings in Apple and Microsoft when he was assigned the case at the end of 2019. Then, in 2020, while the case was pending before him, he purchased more bonds in both companies, according to an appeal filed against his decision in last month. A separate filing that includes Judge Nichols financial disclosure forms shows that in 2020 he purchased bonds in Apple seven times, and Microsoft five times, holdings valued between $60,000 and $200,000.

(31,336 posts)If this case needs more proof, we are truly fucked in cases that are more complicated.

(31,336 posts)we have no rule of law. Magats who are subpoenaed can simply claim partisanship bias. It won't be just Trump who is above the law, it will be all Magats.
