Lee Zeldin (R) running for NYS governor (ugh) was attacked by a clearly troubled vet at a VFW rally. The vet "attacked" him with a plastic keychain. The man served in Iraq and suffers from mental illness and alcoholism. Zeldin, a fellow vet, showed NO empathy. Not only has he abandoned this man, he is totally throwing him to the wolves so he can scream "bail reform" and look "tough on crime". Disgusting. Politics before brothers.
