I had the same reaction you did. He's implicating Bushco.

And yet, this insanity somehow fits right in with the other crazy conspiracy and fascist propaganda the party allows and promotes. Isn't everything a conspiracy? Q, the election, covid, vaccines, etc. Except the efforts to undermine our democracy. That's the real conspiracy, the one none of them recognize.

Is the Trump wing now trying to totally discredit what was once the Bushco wing? Certainly anytime a Republican acts like a human being these days the roars of "RINO" emanate from the radical right echo machine.

THESE. PEOPLE. ARE. NUTS!

And actually quite insightful.

It's certainly a fascist control technique to vilify anyone who goes against their agenda, or just won't support it. Think of all the state and local RNC chapters that sanctioned the rethugs who dared to vote against 45, including Liz. Her dad is part of Bushco.

The party has been devolving since before Nixon, but they had an iota of morals, ethics, a sense of fair play (with them making the rules), a love of freedom and democracy for the most part. 45 the "businessman" changed that.

But even before, citizens united, and the assorted right wing backers and think tanks I won't mention paved the way for the extreme conservative takeover of state and local legislatures, and the courts in many places. They kept stepping to the right, and then started going after any who wouldn't follow. A lot followed, and a lot got pulled along.

My thought after posting was that the GOP is no more.
It's using the name, with a platform for an oppressive fascist society. Over 4 years, a large number of the 'reasonable " rethugs withdrew from the party, leaving the dregs, which includes but is not limited to racists, white nationalists, Nazis, militants, conspiracy nuts, evangelicals, and the intolerant. And those that follow.

I could go on about GOPQ crazytown, but I'll stop here.

OMG You've gotta read about him here. total QAnon racist christian nationalist:

Michael Peroutka thinks American leaders must “take a biblical worldview and apply it to civil law and government.”

He’s a former board member of the neo-Confederate League of the South, has said he’s “still angry” that Maryland was blocked from seceding during the Civil War.

He thinks public education is a communist plot, says laws protecting abortion and gay marriage are illegal and unenforceable because they violate God’s law, and called the concept of the separation of church and state a “great lie.”
...
He’s promised if he wins he’ll investigate Republican Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan’s efforts to curtail COVID-19, and has said Maryland’s election system is susceptible to widespread fraud.
...
“A constitutional God-fearing attorney general of Maryland can do something about that. He can empanel grand juries, he can bring prosecutions against the people who violated your rights.”
...
He is also an avowed creationist whose family charitable foundation donated an Allosaurus dinosaur skeleton valued $1 million to the Creation Museum.
