Al Franken answered Jim Acosta (cant recall the exact quote): this is 2022 and we have very important elections coming up this fall. We need to focus on them, not play parlor games about what we think may happen in 2024.
I thought it was a bit harsh to a reporter who has been very fair with Dems, but the more I hear pundits talking about Biden in 2024, the more I think Al is right to dismiss it this way.

(15,150 posts)to Mehdi Hassan the other night. He pushed her again and again to talk about Biden in 2024 and she kept answering him that 2022 is of primary concern right now. If we don't win this fall, then 2024 won't really matter.
I saw that interview and he pissed her off with that nonsense. The dude is not a Biden fan and he doesn't miss an opportunity to jab the President whenever he can. Polls like that are meant to divide the party and some people on our side just eat bad news up when it fits their narrative.
Me.
(35,454 posts)I support my president and leave it at that, which is not what Nadler and Maloney said when asked at the debate. Their opponent said he did and is now getting a lot of attention.

(441 posts)The strategy for 2024 will be nothing but vapor until we see the results of 2022. Those results will help us know which way to go.

This is a very difficult time for those of us who believe in free press. My college level training in journalism has me questioning the quality of many of those who have come out of colleges and universities over the past couple of decades.
