It has been said that the surest way to stagnate --- i.e., do nothing--- is to insist that you have 100% of the money, material and manpower you will need to be 100% certain you will succeed. "That ain't life", folks.

At best, we can consider all the factors that seem relevant, assess the resources we have to expend, weigh the benefit of success against the cost of failure, take a deep breath and---make a decision.

I bore you with this as it seems to be a truth we should have handy as the Republicans prepare to assault President Biden and our party with their "woulda, coulda, shoulda" 20-20 hindsight "report" about our overdue withdrawal from Afghanistan.

In language they will understand, Joe "got 'er done!"
