i would love to see joe write a nice long op ed about this, and then go on the teevee, and name names and point fingers and explain it like he's the sub in a special needs kindergarten class.

fascists of the 1930s was helped quite a bit by the attack on Pearl Harbor. Until then, the thinking part of the US was looking fearfully at Hitler's designs on Europe and Japan's attacks on China, but we were still averse to war, so neutrality held the day.

Fascism and authoritarianism has always had a soft place in the affairs of man, and democracies have fallen since Greece and Rome. They are falling even today and we have no Hitler or Tojo to expose the powers aligned against democracy.
