discouraging vaccines, etc killed a lot of Floridians

And he promoted it after it was ineffective against Omicron.

Maine & Vermont have populations with higher average age. How come they're not at the top of the list?

But that didn't stop DeSantis from promoting it after word got out about it not being effective on Omicron.

As well, the evidence is overwhelming that Covid vaccines helped people. Regeneron was another tool in the tool box - and should not have been as prominent a tool as DeSantis promoted.

Social distancing, masks and vaccines were in the tool box and utilized by the regions who handled Covid the best. DeSantis played those down - to try to distance himself politically at the expense of his constituents and cash in with his biggest donor.

28. Median age

of the USA: 38.1 years
of FL: 42.2 years.

DeSantis' approach, supported by a good chunk of Floridians, certainly had an impact but age (and the underlying health issues of year-round as well as snowbirds) probably had just as much.

We have to rid ourselves of this, way before 2024. The last thing we need to have is coronavirus still an issue after 4 years.

The OP is just accepted because it fits our expected narrative.

Indeed, it appears that the first poster who tried to confirm from neutral sources was met with an assumption that the OP was correct and the state must be hiding the true figure from the neutral source.
