https://buckscountybeacon.com/2022/08/underreported-and-massive-theocratic-movement-joins-forces-with-michael-flynn-and-roger-stone/On July 1, 2022, inside a packed Georgia arena, four religious leaders stood on stage as they recited a blood chilling Prayer Declaration called the Watchman Decree:
Whereas, we have been given legal power from heaven and now exercise our authority, Whereas, we are Gods ambassadors and spokespeople over the earth. Whereas, through the power of God we are the world influencers. Whereas, because of our covenant with God, we are equipped and delegated by him to destroy every attempted advance of the enemy, we make our declarations: 3. We decree that our judicial system will issue rulings that are biblical and constitutional. 4. We declare that we stand against wokeness, the occult, and every evil attempt against our nation. 5. We declare that we now take back our God-given freedoms, according to our Constitution. 6. We decree that we take back and permanently control positions of influence and leadership in each of the Seven Mountains.

A video of the recitation (shown above) was viewed more than 3 million times on Twitter. In the replies, many people expressed horror at what they had seen. Although few were aware, they had just witnessed the fruits of the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR). The NAR is a rapidly accelerating and dangerously under-reported worldwide Christian authoritarian movement. It practices faith healing and exorcism and promotes dominionism, a belief that Christians must take control of government, business and culture in order for Jesus to return to earth. The men on stage included NAR apostles Dutch Sheets (who wrote the decree) and Lance Wallhau, along with two close colleagues, pastors Mario Murillo and Hank Kunneman. The fifth man, pastor Gene Bailey, hosted the event for his show Flashpoint on Victory TV, a Christian network that platforms the NAR and pro-Trump Make America Great (MAGA) influencers.

Disgraced former Trump National Security Advisor, Michael Flynn, a retired lieutenant general with an intelligence and special operations background, has appeared on Flashpoint several times and seems to have formed an alliance with the NAR. Longtime Trump advisor Roger Stone, who works with Flynn and has ties to violent extremists, embraces the NAR as well. He, Flynn, and other like-minded MAGA influencers and Christian authoritarian zealots are coming to Pennsylvania for the final stop of the so-called Reawaken America Tour (RAT). The tour was founded by Clay Clarkson, a far right podcast host from Oklahoma, and is sponsored by NAR apostle Steve Strang through Charisma News, one of Strangs media companies. Several NAR apostles have spoken on the RAT. Spooky Nook Sports in Mannheim is hosting the event on October 21 and 22.

(24,370 posts)Was he a religious nutjob before he got in, or did that happen during his time in the Army?
It's of little import at this juncture.
I am beginning to think these RWNJ's are in for a rude awakening, when the majority of rational Americans finally wakes up and pushes back against these stuck-in-the-12th-century assholes. They won't like it one bit.
I did say it before, though. I wish I had saved the threads I said it in, but back during Mr. Obama's presidency I said that even though we had made some very good progress on the social front, the other side won't go quietly. And it will get a lot worse before it gets a lot better, and here we are.
They want this country to be a 100% Evangelical Church going population and to look like Ward and June Cleaver and Jim and Margaret Anderson (Father Knows Best) are every family on every block and the nearest brown or black people live "on the other side of the tracks" where they belong, dammit.
These people represent a shrinking demographic and they know it, and they won't accept that reality, not one bit, oh no.

(10,252 posts)maybe Flynn is a Dominionist, but Roger Stone? No way. They are merely jumping on the Christo-Fascist bandwagon to posture and pose and manipulate.
Well it worked for Reagan, Nixon, both Bushes, and TFG, so why not keep pushing it?
Power, power, power, and more power.
Ya know there's more than a few of us that aren't interested in belonging to their church, or any church for that matter.

(10,185 posts)Those ignorant fools act like they talk directly to god.
They think people will believe them when they say they know what god wants? You don't know, but they know what god wants because they talk to god. I thought god was moral....what they think, or what they made up, about a magical being in the sky is a long long way on the other side of moral. It is pure evil.
The god these crazies imagine they are talking to are some really immoral creatures. Are they sure it's a god they are talking to? Sounds more like the Devil himself.
Are a lot of people falling for this obvious evil?
Religion is really dangerous if people believe this crap.

(1,639 posts)Back in my Born-Again days, it was a common concept to accept that the "Whore of Babylon" mentioned in the Book of Revelation (it's singular, people) was the Catholic Church. The fact that there are seven mountains mentioned in the text was believed to be a reference to the seven hills found around Rome.
Now, I am no longer a believer, obviously, but I get a kick out of the fact that Jared Kushner's family owned a property in NYC with the street number 666 in its address. And the ubiquitous MAGA hats just play right into all that "Mark of the Beast" on all the foreheads of those deceived by him.
Fun stuff--but only in a way--in others ways it is scary as f-ck.

Being afraid of these mouth-breathing potato-heads is the worst thing to do. They want to intimidate us, don't let them.
Do they want to end our Democracy, hell yes they do. Are they attacking our Democracy, hell yes they are. I am, however, not buying that our American Democracy is hanging by a thread. We are told this daily, but I think that's total horseshit. Not hard to figure which side are the Patriots. Patriots, not flag lapel wearers, who own three pairs of American flag pants.
I'm not naive. Republicans, their little minds are broken. They not only say they want to get rid of the FBI, IRS, the Constitution, the entire American government. They mean it. And are actively working to do it. I won't allow that, you won't allow that, we won't allow that. Whatever it takes.
Good Americans, Democrats, us, me and you... we aren't just going to shrug our shoulders, say golly gee, roll over and play dead.

(1,850 posts)Very scary.
I've encountered many Christians going off on mission trips over the many years I've worked in a store that sells Army Navy stuff (duffel bags are a big item for them). Usually they're helping a community abroad and trying to demonstrate christan charity and spread their word.
My handle here was chosen because I was and am on a totally different type of mission; one to fight against oppression, racism, injustice, inhumanity, and help keep this country out of the control of the christofascists and other bad people.
They are declaring a jihad, a holy war. They are a militant minority. I remember learning about the crusades, holy wars, destroying or converting the infidels and non-believers. This is really disturbing, although I believe many Christians will reject this, there are too many who might embrace this view. As I write this it occurs to me that it may split along the lines of the abortion issue; the rabid right to life sects are this group of christofascists. More moderate christians would not embrace this. Just the most radicalized.
Christofascists! A cult and a movement! Extremely dangerous!
