Great News in Nevada Senate race (Cortez Masto +7%)

In Nevada, incumbent Democratic Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto leads her Republican opponent, Adam Laxalt, by seven percentage points (45%-38%), according to a new poll conducted by Suffolk University and the Reno Gazette-Journal.

Cortez Masto's latest polling numbers are a significant voter swing in her favor. In April, in a hypothetical matchup prior to winning the Nevada Republican primary, Laxalt led Cortez Masto by 3 percentage points (43%-40%) according to a previous poll also conducted by Suffolk University and the Reno Gazette-Journal.

And we need to run as if we are behind, but (as you say) the wind does seem to be at our back.

The Republicans seem to have given us two gifts: the repeal of Roe v Wade, and the nonstop stories of Trump's crimes, both with the January 6 committee and the FBI search of Mar-a-lago.

The Republican "message" about inflation and Biden's "unpopularity" can't seem to penetrate with those 2 things staring them in the face.

The president's party losing seats in the house in the first midterm of a presidency is normal, but picking up seats in the senate seems odd.

But hey.

Gerrymandering.

It's supposedly the more democratic institution. But we're gaining in the generic poll but losing in the actual house race projections by a wide margin

I think Roe has changed the election. I actually believe we will pick up seats in the House.

Has Cortez-Masto had any stumbles or is this just midterm doldrums (until recently)?

Prior to Roe and 45 being caught with secrets, it was only a three point race according to her article
