Correct me if I'm wrong. The 2 trump lawyers who signed a document declaring all documents returned.

They can either be targets of the investigation or witnesses. They have two choices. They can say we thought on our own all the secret documents were returned, which will put them in legal jeopardy. Or, they can become witnesses and say Trump informed us all the documents were returned.

These two lawyers are in deep shit and so is Trump.

It was a rather quick hire.

Does he think the other two lawyers will not be around much longer to represent him?

Trump hired attorney he saw on TV amid “trouble finding lawyers” to represent him
Jim Trusty was added to Trump's Mar-a-Lago legal team after the former president saw him on television

Those two lawyers were never qualified to handle a case like this. Trump has been searching for lawyers who are better qualified to defend him in a case like this. Of course he found a couple more lawyers willing to destroy themselves defending Trump.

What, you didn't know he's an honorary lawyer too?

He even argued before the Supremes Court, even though it wasn't the same after Diana Ross left.

At least part of what the lawyers said was something like "based on the information we've been given there are no more documents." I don't believe the lawyers claimed actual knowledge, but rather that they were passing along information.

From pages 8 and 9 of the filing:

... When producing the documents, neither counsel nor the custodian asserted that the former
President had declassified the documents or asserted any claim of executive privilege. Instead,
counsel handled them in a manner that suggested counsel believed that the documents were
classified: the production included a single Redweld envelope, double-wrapped in tape,
containing the documents. The individual present as the custodian of records produced and
provided a signed certification letter, which stated in part the following:

Based upon the information that has been provided to me, I am authorized to
certify, on behalf of the Office of Donald J. Trump, the following: a. A diligent
search was conducted of the boxes that were moved from the White House to
Florida; b. This search was conducted after receipt of the subpoena, in order to
locate any and all documents that are responsive to the subpoena; c. Any and
all responsive documents accompany this certification; and d. No copy, written
notation, or reproduction of any kind was retained as to any responsive
document.
I swear or affirm that the above statements are true and correct to the best of
my knowledge.

I have been thinking the same. The lawyer(s) can just say--Trump and or his aides told me this was all the docs.

Time will tell.
