They are as good at math as the are at leading, governing and managing money.
75-25 equals 50-50.
Like the Catholic Church in Kansas with their abortion nonsense pissed off half of Kansas voters and lost the issue 59% to 41%.
A question for my fellow DUers, a question which Id like to see grow in volume:
SHOULD A CHURCH WHICH SPENT OVER FOUR MILLION DOLLARS ATTEMPTING (In pathetic nefarious fashion) TO CODIFY ONE OF ITS BELIEFS INTO PUBLIC LAW LOSE ITS TAX EXEMPT STATUS? Asking for a weary nation and for millions of veterans who served defending our constitution against ALL enemies.

(37,109 posts)In separation of church and state. Especially the Church of Rome. I pick on Catholics because I was one.
And the votes are in from SheltieLover - Lose that tax exemption.

(57,073 posts)If they have a charitible branch doing real work in communities, let that have exempt status.
These fking nightclub shithole churches would fold like roaches scattering when the lights go on.

before i moved out of my home town, in 80, there was a big koc hall on a hill in the town w an 8' x 8' fetus sign. it was a frequent target of paint balloons. if only paint guns had been invented then....

(37,109 posts)I was born and raised Catholic, was an altar boy. Was groomed to go to mass and give money. Just went through the trauma through sixth grade. The church does not appreciate its freedom to survive in this country. They just want more. Christianity is not the priority in Catholic Churches or schools. Money is.

(70,235 posts)i think most of the nuns read dr spock. i was always treated kindly and rarely even saw a kid get smacked. my bro, otoh, went to a jebbie military school.
but it all seemed like bs pretty early on. an old guy, a young guy and a ghost didnt seem like a rock to build a new church on. and i dont remember when i figured out what a virgin was, but making a baby w a ghost didnt seem right.
i know someone who was a victim in chi, and they got fucked again in the chintzy settlement they got.
i wont be happy til i see the vatican art collection on the auction block, esp the naughty bits in the bsmt.

I still remember how the nuns got a new car every Christmas from a local car dealer whose kid was in my class. Her grades were always circling the drain, but by Jove they passed her on up to the next grade every June.

(35,745 posts)Using polling data and came up with 24%, just about the time news of his document theft was breaking. Taking the effect of this act of treason, 18% would be realistic.
