(2,357 posts)no passports necessary. Then, I figure he'll likely get some slap on the wrist --a fine and three months in one of the nicer lock-ups. And he knows it. Hope I'm wrong.

NEW YORK, Sept 8 (Reuters) - Steve Bannon, the onetime top strategist to former U.S. President Donald Trump, pleaded not guilty on Thursday to money laundering and conspiracy charges for allegedly deceiving donors to an effort to help Trump build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.
Bannon, 68, was handcuffed when he came into a New York state court in Manhattan. He was released without bail after his lawyer David Schoen entered the plea on his behalf.
----snip----
Lots of details on the case in the article, but the above answers your question.

(861 posts)How can he plead not guilty to state charges after accepting a pardon for federal charges? Isn't accepting a pardon an admission of guilt? Or are the charges for different crimes?

(8,891 posts)maybe the charges are different enough?
