So I had a call from my grandson who goes to college three blocks from my house

He's in an art school where his major of theater design and production demands evening classes from 6 pm to 11pm frequently, and this coming week he is scheduled to be there Tuesday, on election night.

He says:
"I wrote an email to my crew supervisor and asked if I could please have that evening off to be with my grandmother on election night.
You are, I told her, an avid Democrat, and I said I just want to be with you and by your side".

"WOW" I said :"This is great, I'd love for you to come over, but your supervisor laughed at you, right"

"Oh no, I got the evening off after 7:30".

"That's too cool. I'm so glad I don't have to be by myself while I'll be so nervous."

"You won't be by yourself at all. So far I have 4 of my buds who are coming with me. It's a party."[/div class]

Does anyone see anything wrong with that?.

We will, after all, have a huge country wide party, we Democrats will.
I can feel it in my bones.

and now she's coming, too. And this is just a little while since it happened.

Last election he was 16.
We had been to Washington twice, he and I, to protest Bush.
I was invited at the local Y for election night, they had a party of about 50 folks. 4 of them white, 2 of those were grandson and I. We were therefore in an almost all black party when the first black President was elected.
This is not anything grandson and I will EVER forget.

Then, on inauguration day, we came to Washington in the red eye bus from NC and froze our asses off on the mall but our eyes were shiny.

That's a little of our history. It all makes even more sense now, doesn't it?

grandson. I'll be working as a poll watcher in a precinct where some people have been told they couldn't vote. Should be interesting.
I won't get off till 7:00, so I'll probably come home and watch it with my husband.
I keep hearing that Obama is a shoe-in, but I'm still nervous, those Republicans are so sneaky/sly, no telling what they are capable of doing. Otherwise, I would come to your party Mira!

It's Bush v. Gore.
It's about 1 am and his parents he and I are huddled around a little TV.
Grandson is sitting on the floor, in the corner of the cabinets staring at the TV that calls it tied.
"Oh my God" - he says " and I thought this was going to be boring".

I don't know how old your children are, but it's all in the presentation, the preparation, and tailoring what you tell them about what is going on to their age.
They will get it why it is exciting.

Facebook invite draws thousands to crash Dutch girl's party

(CBS/AP) HAREN, Netherlands - Riot police were out in force in a small Dutch town Friday night confronting about 30,000 people who showed up for a girl's 16th birthday party that was inadvertently advertised on Facebook.

Authorities say 34 people were arrested Friday night and in the early hours of Saturday morning as rioters clashed with police in Haren, 115 miles north of Amsterdam.

My son has been volunteering in Colorado for Obama 14 hours a day for the past couple months, and my mom has been volunteering it in central Florida.

She called me last week and mentioned that she and my son had been talking, that he just called her up one day to talk about the election and they had been staying in close contact ever since. Your post reminds me of them. Just awesome!

good work!

I can already feel the mass celebratory vibe, as the Republicans realize it is way too far out there to attempt to steal, they have already conceded.

With all their shenanigans, they still have no chance.

Thank God the American people are not as stupid as the media would have us believe.
