I am a 60s American male. A so-called "Baby Boomer"
I will expire in 2030 or 2035. (if I'm lucky..)
My children are in their 30s.
The will expire in the 2070s.
Their children will expire in 2100 (if they are lucky...)

What kind of world will be left to humanity in the year 2100?

I fear my grandchildren, who I will never know, will suffer the consequences of the shit we started now.....
The shit we couldn't bother to fix because of greed and stupidity....

I fail to see how we survive a a species.

Whether civilization survives is the question. I’m an optimist and think things won’t get as bad as some think. Because of the climate, huge changes will have to be made. I have hope that the younger generations are up to the task.

The world blowing itself up in war, reports coming in of Japanese military cruelty, beheading western prisoners of war with swords, Germans and Austrians exterminating Jews, conquering and enslaving Europe and North Africa, German submarines (Unterseeboote) blowing up ships we were sending to England, which, itself, was on the receiving end of Hitler's Vergeltungsraketen. We and the Brits, in turn, thought it was a great idea, and turned German and Japanese cities into burning piles of waste. My dad had to take early graduation from college to start basic training before being sent to the war in Europe. My father-in-law was drafted off his farm in the Cloppenburg area, sent to Stalingrad in the middle of that winter, and came back to his farm at age 19, minus a leg. The city boys in his unit all froze to death. After he was able to find a partner, his greatest wish was that if he ever had grandchildren, that they would all be girls, so that they would never be forced into military service (his wish was granted, by the way).

So, many generations have had their demons to face, and many have thought they were looking at the end of the world. At some point, ONE of those generations will be right, but it doesn't have to be ours, or the next one, or the next one after that. There is always the chance that SOME generation will pull its collective head out of its ass, and look up the word "finite" in the dictionary.

We simply aren't taking it seriously and have kicked the can so far down the road for decades that we're now officially behind the 8 ball.
The clock is ticking and has been. We've been warned for many years of what will happen and now we're at the end of the sand in the hour glass. And sorry but doing little things here and there would have been ok 30 years ago. In this day and age it's akin to putting a Band-Aid on a headshot.

We've known for over 100 years that we're hurting the planet.
And for 100 years we haven't done jack shit or taken it seriously.

especially on other continents. Africa, South America, and the North and South Poles currently are undergoing a notable transformation from the eradication of precious wildlife, rainforests, and habitats, to the onslaught of politics in conjunction with mega-corporations. This country did the same as it advanced from the original colonial era to the west, and socio-political/economic issues transformed the great U.S. eradicating species and transforming territory along the way.

I see your point, AZ8theist.

However, the human creature will survive and transform the original beautiful planet into something else. It will have lost the original beauty which created so many dreams and possibilities among the artists, adventurers, scientists, pioneers, scholars, et al. since the dawning of the human species. The socio-economic relationships are ever-changing, however unfortunately the stewardship of this planet was up for grabs to the most powerful.

We are probably the same age, I own the same home I lived in as a child. I remember a nun at the Catholic school who first introduced me to the notion of population explosion. From my home at night as a child, I looked out over a city jungle and would hear all the tropical sounds from the different species that were evident in the silenced midnight of the city.

Today there are no such sounds.

That tropical jungle has wilted. The only midnight sounds are gas-driven vehicles and people screaming out different moods and emotions.

Just my thoughts on the spiral down to extinction in my short lifespan (so far). The Beastiality of the human will survive the mass extinction.

the population will be cut in half from disease, storms, water wars, etc.

Make sure your great grand kids locate near huge fresh water resource, that'll give them a big advantage.
