“Trump & his advisers knew the election hadn’t been stolen from him, but lied relentlessly to the contrary, apparently for the express purpose of getting people to send money that wasn’t even used to ‘stop the steal’.”
Imagine that!

The upstanding folks around Donald Trump have been hit with a wave of new subpoenas in connection with the Justice Department investigation into efforts to overturn the election, the New York Times reports. Some appear aimed at probing his Save America PAC, which raised an enormous pile of cash ostensibly to fight the “stolen” election, then channeled the loot elsewhere.

That’s surely one of the most reprehensible scams the former president has perpetrated. And so, if it’s producing new legal vulnerabilities for Trump and his allies, well, it couldn’t be happening to a nicer bunch of grifters.

There are approximately 40 new subpoenas, according to the Times, and some are aimed at probing efforts to get fake presidential electors appointed to further Trump’s plot to thwart certification of President Biden’s victory. That’s commanding much attention, as the Justice Department’s investigation of that particular scheme appears to be seriously advancing.

But the Times also reports this:

For months, associates of Mr. Trump have received subpoenas related to other aspects of the investigations into his efforts to cling to power. But in a new line of inquiry, some of the latest subpoenas focus on the activities of the Save America political action committee, the main political fund-raising conduit for Mr. Trump since he left office.

The Associated Press adds more, reporting that subpoenas have been issued to seek “information about the political action committee’s fundraising practices.”

I'd love to get excited over this development, but ... history dictates otherwise.

There's likely neither an explicit law against fake electors, nor about scamming your knuckle-dragging dipshit cult members. Just like there isn't any about colluding with Russia to influence elections, nor about withholding foreign aid in order to influence elections, nor about encouraging your cultists to try to overturn US democracy, nor about lying in statements to banks or the IRS, nor about paying off porn stars on the eve of an election to keep them quiet (only if you're his lawyer).

One thing this asshole has been consistent with is ... knowing what he can get away with. Until he actually STOPS getting away with his bullshit ... I won't get excited about any investigations against him. I'll just expect more of the same.

Like the bully who keeps beating up kids until SOMEHOW he is stopped, it never ends.

Enough, already.

Now, the golf club meeting, apparently to scam money as "Master Q"

You saw it here first. He will claim, truthfully or not (and you know his track record) to have ultra secret documents (the DoJ says so!) that "prove" the conspiracy led by Hillary, Barack, Jerry Lewis, Elmo, Generalissimo Francisco Franco and the late QE, who spited him in death.

1. The document crimes including obstruction.

2. The above mentioned "Stop the Steal" mail and wire fraud.

3. The Georgia election fraud state crimes.

Congress and the DOJ should investigate the 1/6 crimes with vigor, but consecutive sentences for the above three crimes will result in a virtual life sentence. Convictions for sedition related activity will be gravy.

Let Leticia James bankrupt him with New York state civil charges.

His capos must also face long prison sentences. Bill Barr should be jailed for his weaponizing of the DOJ in SDNY and Washington DC. HIS corruption can not get a pass because he is getting all "truthy" about the documents.

tfg has so many grifts it's hard to keep track of them all, but this one is the most fraudulent, in broad daylight money grab of all. Get him for it, loudly, so all of the rubes can see where their money really went.
