Judge says Trump knew his voter fraud numbers were false, orders ex-lawyer to give more emails to...

...Jan. 6 committee

A federal judge on Wednesday ordered lawyer John Eastman, a key figure in former President Donald Trump's challenges to the 2020 election results, to turn over 33 new documents to the House committee investigating Jan. 6, including a number the judge found are exempt from attorney-client privilege because they relate to a crime or attempted crime.

In his order, Judge David Carter found Eastman should hand over eight documents under the "crime-fraud exception" to attorney-client and attorney work privileges.

According to the judge, Eastman said in one of the email exchanges that Trump was aware that the number of voter fraud cases his team was alleging in a federal lawsuit challenging the election results in Georgia was "inaccurate." But, the judge said, Trump signed off on the suit, "swearing under oath" that the numbers were correct, anyway.

He will be disbarred -- he knowingly participated in a crime, or at a minimum, an election fraud.

IMO, the ruling by Judge Carter is the beginning of the end. Any atty involved with the knowing misrepresentations as to the alleged "voter fraud" that took 2020 away from tRump and, further, who is an atty, is in deep shit. Someone, IMO, to save his/her ticket is going to tell all. I don't think it will work with most state bars, but a Hail Mary with charges like this? Someone will try.

It may not be the very end, but it sure is the beginning IMO when a Federal judge uses the "crime-fraud" exception. That means that the lawyer AND the client were involved in order to find that exception to the atty-client privilege.

i've been hearing drumpf is doomed since the russia investigation started.

i'm pretty much willing to wait until after the election on the belief garland might be waiting (despite the fact that is incredibly misguided), but if we don't have an arrest and indictment within a week that will signal to me it is for sure never coming

Gads, I am hoping this is on the news for real very sooooooooooon!!!!!

IMO, the finding by Judge Carter is a big deal, at least to me. It seems like the first time, and for sure, a judge has said that there was a crime committed and tRump was knowingly involved.

Abrogation of the atty-client privilege is a huge deal when a Judge says it's gone because of the crime-fraud exception. The atty-client privilege in the legal world is like the first of the 10 Commandments for a lawyer -- protect it at all times and for all reasons. For a judge to make findings that the privilege does not apply because of the crime-fraud exception means that he/she found that the atty AND the client were both knowingly involved in the commission of a crime and/or a fraud.

I rarely post...I read much more on the DU...but when I saw that finding by Judge Carter...my eyes got saucer wide! Carter was head of the criminal division in the Orange County (Calif) Superior court before he was appointed to the federal bench. Carter reformed the entire OCSC crim division. He is not only mega experienced, he is mega respected. He is a great judge. If Atticus Finch had become a judge...he would be Judge David Carter.
