I am reminded these days of Timothy Snyder's 20 Lessons

On Fighting Tyranny from the 20th century, especially when I see some who seem to be resigned that the Republicans may win one or both houses this election. No. 1 of the lessons seems appropriate-

1. Do not obey in advance. Most of the power of authoritarianism is freely given. In times like these, individuals think ahead about what a more repressive government will want, and then offer themselves without being asked. A citizen who adapts in this way is teaching power what it can do.

The full list-with short explanations-can be found at:
https://scholars.org/contribution/twenty-lessons-fighting-tyranny-twentieth-century

And I'm sure Mr. Snyder's book can be found at Amazon and many other places online.

Don't give up hope, my friends. GOTV!

Make people think. They won't read a book. It's too much effort for them.
