Sympthsical
(9,139 posts)It was a big story on Reddit at the time.
So the story is, the teenager - a transgirl - wanted to use the girls' bathroom at school. It's Tennessee, so it was a thing with the school of course. They came up with a compromise that the girl could use the faculty bathroom if she wanted privacy.
She didn't like that solution and decided she wasn't going to go to school at all. Her mother basically just left the situation alone. So, she stopped going to school and was instead streaming all day.
Enter truancy officers. She knew they were coming, because the situation had grown to that point. She was streaming precisely because she knew they were on their way.
So the story, "Police break in and arrest girl for being trans" is . . . not exactly how that went.
Here's the good news. The girl, Wynn, is ok. This is her Twitter:

I don't entirely recommend a scroll through it because 1) 16 year old and 2) fairly problematic attitudes because 3) 16 year old.
But she's all right. She's streaming games, reviewing things, etc. She's chillin.
Edit: I have no idea why that TikTokker is presenting the story as if it's just happening. The situation was resolved months ago. I guess he wanted eyeballs. It's shitty, though, because people in comments are concerned for the girl and think she's in trouble right now.
