Which seems a little less common nowadays. Id never heard of it till I moved out west then it seemed like everyone I met played. Anyways I havent played much in years so its been a nice break in the boredom.

(6,928 posts)He taught us when we were kids, and then gave us a handmade cribbage board. (He was a carpenter.) But we were too young, and didn't remember the rules.
I wonder where that board got to.

(29,459 posts)In addition to cribbage, there were some devotees of bridge, but I preferred plain old spades. I never found anyone interested in cribbage after my discharge.

(23,069 posts)My now deceased wife told me to let her Mom win the first time we played cribbage with her parents.
Guess I wasn't a good listener because her mom picked the board up and threw it across the room.

(10,737 posts)almost two years ago. I couldnt go home from the hospital by myself but my ex swooped in and rescued me for a few months.
Not a cribbage player though. I found some other on line card games like spades, poker, etc. to get me through while I was in the hospital rehab.
Hope your stay is short and sweet.

(706 posts)Second, I played cribbage with my Mom from the time I was a little kid. I have a few beautiful boards, including a hand-hewn one with a live tree edge.
A neighboring exhibitor at a recent artisan show had a bunch of handmade boards in different shapes, including a guitar and different animals. Pretty cool.
Enjoy this portable game!
