4. Eastern Shore of Maryland. One of the few pockets of red in the state.

I voted today, early, in case you know, I got hit by a bus or something. My mom voted early as she went abroad. I have texed my Dem friends and family to vote. The parking lot was full where I voted, but moving nicely. Early voting has been very busy here. A blue wave is swelling. Vote. Vote. Vote.

I am in a pocket of red in a very blue state and all my Dem friends are fired up and voting. Have encouraged a few young people to register and vote Dem over the last couple years. They in turn have swayed a couple of their family members, who were life long repugs, to vote Dem.

Memphis burbs.

About 15-20 in line ahead of us & steady stream after us.

Lots if women voting alone. Significant in this region. Many women here seem to believe they "need a maaaan" to accomplish anything. Surreal, I know.

New voting machines. Had to press & reset choice FIVE TIMES before machine would register Dem gov candidate. Person who accompanied me did not have that problem. Paper ballots were offered.

11. VA -- county next to Richmond. In off-year elections, I'm usually voter #60, 70, 80. . .

today I was voter #334. (I have always voted between 9:30 and 10:30). So, the turnout is higher than usual! There was a steady stream of voters the whole time I was there, also unusual.

So, as far as I can see, turnout is going to be good.

And there were no goons with guns lurking around.

Couldn't believe the parking lot was so full. Made it through in 20-25 minutes, but the other precinct at my same locale had a line at least twice as long. I could see some people waiting an hour. This is suburban Grand Rapids, middle to upper middle class.

22. Are you in MI-03? That's one race I'm really interested in. I lived in the district for years

until I retired and moved to Lansing, and I can't remember a Democrat ever being elected. Paul Henry was the only decent RepubliQan I can remember serving the district and that was back in the 1980s. Vern Ehlers was a hack and Amash, well, yuck. I moved before Meijer was elected.

Hillary Scholten is favored to win the seat over Q Anon nutcase John Gibbs who literally has said women shouldn't be allowed to vote or to work. The district has been redrawn from R+9 to D+3.

Have my Hillary sign and her campaign workers have stopped by the house twice.

20. Lansing, MI. Turnout looks higher than 2018.

I voted by mail in 2020 because you know, but it's actually more convenient for me to vote in person (the polling place is literally across the street from my house.) I can see out my window that there's steady traffic in and out of the place, so I'm encouraged. The poll workers were cheerful, and it was good to see that most of them were young.

I'm cautiously optimistic, but I'm still traumatized by 2016, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Turnout seemed solid. It’s a moderate area but a lot of elderly republicans around here too.

I walked in and there was a booth with two old men representing the county republicans and holding sample ballots. He asked me “Republican?” Probably because I’m a 34 year old white male dressed in my nice work clothes.

I replied “NOPE!” And kept walking. Had no line. Walked right in. Got my ballot. Voted for Fetterman, Shapiro, Houlahan, and Piello. And left.

Am guessing since this is not a primary, that this is the type of crap some of the polling places will do. Years ago they used to do it in Montgomery County (Democrats were afraid to admit to being a Democrat else the volunteer fire companies would not respond if you had a fire and other assorted and sundry harassment like nonsense citations for sidewalk cracks, etc).

However slowly but surely, Montco went from red to purple to now blue. And Chester County is hopefully heading in that direction too (as an increasingly purple county - at least along the eastern side).

I have a sister who lives in Montco and moved there 20 years ago just as it was going purple and her neighbors told her all the stories. Josh Shapiro was actually the Democrat who successfully ran for Montgomery County Commissioner that helped to break the GOP back of the County a little over a decade ago (providing Democrats with a majority (D) for the first time ever 2 - 1).
