(12,744 posts)He needs to get a pretty huge chunk of those 2K votes to pull ahead. Sounds like there's still a lot more out though.

At this rate she might escape the sub 0.5% recount.

(23,447 posts)For two days now, since Frisch was up over a thousand, ever update has been that remaining votes are all in Frisch strongholds and only a few left in Boebert areas. but every update since she has closed the gap and now expanded the lead. What's going on here?

(112,687 posts)that you may have come to expect from other more urban areas. But what you probably don't realize is the assumptions about who votes how (by party) don't always apply here because EVERYONE gets a mailed ballot and EVERYONE CAN mail it, drop it in convenient drop boxes and there is ample EARLY voting in person as well as on election day in Colorado. So figuring out what batch of votes is what is difficult. Plus any ballot inadvertently sent to the wrong precinct or county CAN still count as long if received on time as it will be transferred.
Further, the military has until next Wednesday for their ballots to be processed (if mailed on election day, they have 8 days to get here).
Further, Colorado works hard to notify those whose ballot has been invalidated due to a signature error or ? These people are being notified now and have until next Wednesday to "cure" it.

Beyond that, this is not an election that normally would have gotten any attention. Those overseeing are not accustomed to dealing with the media, have small workforces, and the media that will do in-depth reporting (local newspaper) and to a lesser extent, tv, are dwindling. THat we actually have a reporter in one of the major remaining sources of ballots covering this is better than I might have expected.
NO, there is no evidence of some kind of conspiracy. It is taking as long as it is taking and the folks there are not trying to pull anything. We have the best secretary of state in the country (Jen Griswold) insuring that does not happen, but it does fall to the locals first.
