I can't find a good site that gives up-to-the-minute results, and tallies.

Am I silly to think there is some teeth strangle-holding these last few races in order to declare them red? I get nervous thinking votes will be discounted--not counted for Democrats.

(19,119 posts)That race is over.
And I'm old enough to remember when they'd call a race when the winner was behind based on the remaining votes. In a different era, the media might call the Nevada Senate race for CCM this morning. Then outstanding votes are more than enough to put her over the top.

(2,013 posts)in Maricopa County. ALL of those that are left there are the same day DROP off ballots (so, they requested an early ballot, and dropped off at a polling place ON Election Day).
In 2020, those favored Rs (which is how Biden had a big lead that slowly dwindled, but we held on).
HOWEVER, in 2018, those heavily favored Ds (which is how Sinema was trailing on Election Night, and went on to win by 2.3%, IIRC).
SO... tonight will be the first drop of those 290K ballots (probably about 70K). This will tell us EVERYTHING.
If those favor Rs, Masters would still need about 70% of them (a HUUUGE number) to break for him to catch up. Anything less than that and they should call it for Kelly.
My BIGGEST fear (as an Arizonan) is that this batch favors Rs, because although Kelly will withstand it (and should be enough to defeat Finchem, the Insurrectionist running for AG), it would mean that Lake would be on pace to win. She only has to overcome 29K votes, so she only needs about 55% of those ballots.
If this batch is fairly even (or favors Dems), they might as well call AZ for Kelly AND Lake. We'll know a LOT tonight, because this batch of 70K or so (of that 290K) is a big enough sample to tell us how the rest SHOULD likely go.

Out in Arizona where the bad men are
The only thing to guide them is a TV star.
But the roughest, toughest man by far.
Is not a man at all.

(14,315 posts)According to the AZ SOS website, 2,062,578 ballots cast. Looking at the vote tallies for Kelly, Masters, and Victor, it's a total of 2,047,279 ballots cast. That leaves 15,299 ballots to count. If they all went for Masters, he'd still lose to Kelly.
Maybe ballots cast is only those that have been tallied.
Still 518,034 ballots uncounted statewide as of 10:53 PDT
