Protesters pour black liquid on Klimt masterpiece in Vienna

Climate activists poured black liquid over a glass screen protecting Gustav Klimt's masterpiece "Death and Life" in Vienna on Tuesday, in the latest protest at inaction over global heating.

The work by the Austrian painter was undamaged, Vienna's Leopold Museum said.

We can quit fossil fuels now, or we can wait until Mother Nature smacks us around some more, possibly to the point our civilization fails and billions of us suffer and die.

Nuclear power is the only energy resource capable of displacing fossil fuels entirely, a realty that is anathema to many of these protestors and the fossil fuel industry, especially the natural gas industry which wants us to believe wind and solar power will solve all our problems. Unfortunately that experiment has failed, quite spectacularly in the case of Germany where coal is still king.
