that out of any 50 people, 12 would have a relative or close friend involved in a same-sex relationship. That may have been a factor with at least some of them.

The Mormon Church recently gave their approval, so not surprised to see Romney on the list.

she was educated at a private boarding school and Duke University. She's no mouth breather, she just plays one on TV. Women in general are less hung up on the gay thing so it's no surprise that several GOP women are on this list.

On August 2, I was having dinner in Washington with three Democratic Senators that I know. Much to my surprise, Blunt and Capito Moore were at a table just outside our room. They recognized their three Democratic colleagues, of course, and popped in to say hi to them and Gabby. They then stared at my brother and me with a "who the hell are THOSE guys" look on their faces. Blunt and Capito Moore looked VERY at ease with each other. This was definitely NOT the first time they were having dinner together. Maybe they were discussing what a nice time it must be to be a Democratic Senator these days, even though neither of them could ever be one.

I'm fron Florida as you know. Back in 1994 my boss and I were making a sales call to the Greater Washington Society of Association Executives and we had lunch at the Jockey Club. Barry Goldwater was at the next table.

I hear he was an interesting character.

I have been spending most of my time in Europe since the 1980s, so there is much of the daily life in DC that I miss out on. I got most of my inside info from my dad, who was about as dialed-in as any member of the print press could be. He turned 65 in 1987, and his idea of retirement was going into Washington four days a week instead of five or six. That sort of rubbed off on me, since I'm now 70, and my "another country every day" workweek hasn't let up at all. I don't meet many US politicos over here, as you can imagine, so I have to plan my meet-ups around my schedule when I'm in the States.

Shame on him!!! I'm surprised by Ernst and Romney. The latter due to his religion.

Good for the 12. Finally something good coming out of the GOP.

Some parasite of tolerance and decency may have attached itself to him, although if so, he no doubt takes supressant drugs. Even so, if he forgets to takes his meds, he might have relapses into tolerance, however brief.
