are not willing to allow it to pass without Republican votes, no reconciliation.

They are such wonderful representatives of the people, the very best of all of us....or something like that, to avoid the suggestion that I am criticizing them in any way.

Proposing to eliminate SS and Medicare - and then have a vote on it. They have the majority, but I bet that is a vote like Dodd. It would be another dog chasing and catching the car. Strongly suspect that there would be a huge blue wave in 2024 for the House, after that vote.

even so, I would bet my bottom dollar that Biden would not allow it. He is a tough adversary. I doubt the GOP will have the votes to destroy the economy.

Who knows what will actually happen. It has just become a joke the whole system of governing here. It was always based on a very flawed system from the start that has allowed us to get to this crazy place. The rich stealing from the middle class and poor etc.

I think Joe should give them his best Clint Eastwood squint and say “go ahead, make my day” and dare them to tank the US and world economies.

They will collapse like a house of cards. All it would take is a couple swing district GOP defections, and it’s off to the senate.

They may shut things down for a while, but they'll eventually relent. It'll just make them look both evil and inept. Not a good look in '24.
