General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsWe are going to witness a perfect example of how extremism destroys itself in the end.
People like Jim Jordan, McCarthy and others refused to answer a subpoena from the J6 committee. That means they are afraid, hiding something. They were a part of J6 in some way. They are compromised. They are weak. They are illegitimate.
Now, Jim Jordan is going to leading many of the investigations. He has the power to subpoena people. Jordan refuses to answer a legit subpoena and now he is going to subpoena people? Good fucking luck you traitor. The Democrats are going to tear their investigations to pieces.
The extremists, the traitors, are going to look like the fools they are.

(16,793 posts)Repugnant people like Gym Jordan, Kevin McCarthy, MTG will be exposed through their own hypocrisy when it comes time for subpoenas. Those Democrats they are going after in order to make names for themselves can bring the fact up some of them were asked to come before the J6 committee and thumbed their noses. So Democrats need to pay hardball because they know that these investigations will be nothing short of clown shows on taxpayers' dimes. What did hours upon hours of Benghazi hearings find? NOTHING wrong was done!

(86,796 posts)In our favor is that our House members aren't stupid like the zombiesforfascism. And we still have Nancy through the upcoming Congress so they had best be careful - they won't, can't help themselves. So on the Democratic side there are amazing Constitutional scholars and practitioners who have respect for the rule of law.
I think our lineup will outwit the living daylights out of this kkkrowd of kkklowns.

(38,581 posts)Marginalized people did not volunteer to be guinea pigs for the GOP, but that's exactly what's about to happen.
Some of these marginalized people actually believed GOP candidates when the candidates told them they'd fix crime and inflation. None of them expected that their problems would take a back-seat to investigations into Hunter Biden, Fauci, Garland, et al.
They're about to be left out in the cold--some of them literally.

(10,303 posts)Then shut it down. Apparently DOJ doesn't prosecute those who partially comply with congressional subpoenas. Yes I'm looking at Mark Meadows. Don't be like Steve Bannon though.

(17,970 posts)If it's not, make them go to the courts to enforce. As we've seen, that takes forever and THEY'VE set the precedent.

(38,581 posts)What we could say is, "What does my testimony have to do with inflation? The GOP promised us relief from inflation. The voters believed them. I don't see how my testimony forwards that agenda."

(10,252 posts)We really don't have to worry about whomever they subpoena, because those people just need to answer the questions honestly and deny all the crackpot accusations. Dems have nothing to hide. Dems didn't construct a gallows and beat the crap out of capitol police, or defacate in the halls of the capitol.
It's just a shame that for the next 2 years, they won't be interested in passing any legislation that benefits the American people. I guess the positive side is that the majority of voters will be disgusted and fed up with their stupid shit-show. What a waste of time.
All it will take from us is to put forward candidates, who are decent people with a political agenda that would benefit the American people. Ya know, 1st class candidates like --- Joe Biden.

(17,970 posts)They have zero legitimacy on this issue. They set the precedent.
No, I'm serious. Just fucking ignore their subpoenas in most cases. Tell them to go pound sand. Paraphrase Jackson on the issue..."I'll comply when they show they have the ability to actually enforce it."

(1,996 posts)...the millions upon millions of gullible Americans that vote and trust these bastards. Until we can shut off the propaganda machine (Faux News and others) and the politicians and other commentators that echo all the lies and bullshit, this country is in jeopardy. Yes we dodged a bullet this past election but this nightmare is far from over.

(12,875 posts)They are personally guilty of crimes or they have knowledge that would confirm the GUILT of their cohorts all the way up to Trump.
If the J6 investigation was in fact nothing but a partisan abuse of power by a weaponized Justice Dept as they claim, they would be highly motivated to testify with truth on their side.
But, of course, truth is NOT on their side. They are knee deep in the Big Lie and attempted coup.
It is THEY who are eager to weaponize the power of Congress, motivated by revenge and deflection.
